- Managed and led effort to retire many legacy mainframe systems once the SAP/R3 implementation finished. Over 2800 modules, including almost 400 CICS modules, multiple CICS regions, 1700 other modules, and 700 batch jobs were deactivated without any impact to the business community, after the SAP system went live. Most IMS databases, and many DB2 tables, were archived and retired as part of this effort.
- Initiated a project that freed significant DASD storage and reduced number of active CICS regions needed by 50%. Removed mainframe flat files and tapes from legacy systems, by auditing and directing support team in archiving & deleting information no longer needed due to success of new SAP environment.
- Trained and led multiple outsource mainframe production support teams, consolidating these teams’ efforts and improving productivity. Instituted new standards for these teams in New Jersey, San Diego, and India. Proposed and implemented upgrades to Sony’s Change Control and Incident Management Procedures.
- Led application team that was responsible for developing and testing new mainframe interfaces built for the user community between legacy systems and environments utilizing Oracle and client server applications.
