  • Metlife is one of the largest life insurer's with a global footprint providing insurance products to individuals as well as corporate customers. The goal of this project is to integrate data streams for various countries into a SQL Server 2008 database, generate insurance models and reports for management. Current database size is about 1 TB. The role involves:
  • Actively involved in converting operational data into fact and dimension tables for the insurance data warehouse in SQL Server 2008. Current warehouse size is about 1.5TB and data is stored partitioned by year. Also developed stored procedures in C# to be used in conjunction with MDX queries.
  • Building matrix, tabular SSRS reports using SSAS 2008 as a data source. Some of these reports retrieve data from the transactional as well as OLAP databases and can interface with custom C# libraries to meet user requirements.
  • Working with the BIDS studio to scrub input text and xml files, creating SSIS packages to load data to the staging environment and interfacing with C# libraries to ensure conformance with existing business rules. Built SQL Agent jobs to run SSIS packages to load changed data from the staging environment to production on a nightly basis.

The goal of this project is to efficiently track the performance of Sallie Mae's credit card offers. My role is to interact with the business and analysts to gather requirements, document interfaces with third party vendors and build the logical and physical data model using ER/Studio. I have generated and continue to maintain the data dictionary and database scripts to build the database in SQL Server 2008. Support the development team by enforcing standards and building all the stored procedures, triggers for the application and ensuring that performance is within established SLA's. Created data extracts for products, tactics, offers and product features using BIDS to create SSIS packages and FTP them to Sallie Mae's third party vendor using SQL jobs created using SQL Agent. Data validation is performed using C# libraries. Tortoise SVN is used for version control and Visual Studio 2008 is used for application development and we follow the SCRUM methodology with a three week sprint cycle.

  • Databases at CSC are over 3TB in size and part of my role involves acquiring data from various jurisdictions in the form of text or XML files and working with BIDS to write SSIS packages to perform data validation, cleansing and eventually loading it to the staging environment using stored procedures in t-SQL.   • The IKM (Information and Knowledge Management) group in Siemens is responsible for RIS products targeting radiologists and cardiologists. This product integrates with a PACS(Picture Archiving and Communication System) to deliver high quality images. We are a team of ten involved in building an AJAX based application using the .NET 3.5 framework. My role is to reverse engineer the existing database using ER/Studio and enhance the model for improved performance. Part of my role also involved creating stored procedures for CRUD operations and building SSIS packages to map, validate and load operational data (supplies used, expenses, dollars spent per patient day etc.) from hospitals into SQL Server and creating BI reports. The application is written in VB.NET and the backend is SQL Server 2008. Rational Clearcase is used for version control.

As a part of the program, all wholesalers, prescribers, pharmacies, male and female patients need to be registered and the program is designed to create a verifiable link between negative pregnancy test and the dispensing of Isotretinoin products to females of child bearing potential. My role in the application is to streamline the business rules engine and processes as well as review and recommend corresponding database design changes. Part of the changes included tweaking data access components. The backend for the application is SQL Server 2005 and the front end is built in ASP.NET 2003 and business objects are in C#. Visual Source Safe 2005 is used for version control.

  • TNS is a leading provider of strategic advertising intelligence to advertisers. The application tracked occurrence data and performs analysis on advertising trends on millions of brands across websites in the U.S and Canada. Responsible for assisting in database design to help migrate (and re-engineer) the backend from Sybase to SQL Server 2005 using Visio 2003. Involved in building middle tier components and stored procedures for various application functionality and data access objects to perform transactions in Sybase and SQL Server 2005 using T-SQL. The business objects are built in C# and ASP.NET 2.0 for the front end. Version control tool used is ANKH.

  • Lead a team of eight through the implementation of a franchise portal. Helped in designing the framework, webparts, web service and data access elements. Eventually, the portal will be extended to cover the entire organization. The application is designed using Sharepoint Portal Server 2003, C# and Web Services.
  • The company has partnered with Ecount and DataWave to provide Visa and MasterCard prepaid cards(stored value cards) to customers in all of their market segments. This initiative has so far fetched about six million dollars in revenue in 2005-2006. Responsible for gathering requirements from users and creating E-R diagrams in Visio 2003 which formed the basis for a physical database design. I was also involved in interacting directly with Ecount and DataWave to interface with their web service to provide a real time business to business interface to handle credit card transactions. This application is currently installed in 1300 stores across the U.S. Transaction validation is performed on a daily basis through a windows service which validates data feeds sent to a secure FTP location by the bank as well as the vendor using DTS packages. The middle tier is a web service using WSE 2.0 in C# to provide an implementation for various card functions. The backend is SQL Server 2000 and stored procedures, triggers were written in T-SQL.
  • Migrated loan and prepaid card databases from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 using a side by side migration procedure. Converted and enhanced existing DTS packages to SSIS packages. Used the BIDS studio to create new SSIS packages to extract, validate and load sales data from Visa and loan data from the bank. Created a library of validation routines in VB.NET which could be interfaced with SSIS packages and generated reports for sales and marketing using SSRS.
  • Lead a team of eight in designing a web portal using ASP.NET 2.0, C# and AJAX to provide an interface to handle inventory, provide real time card and customer information. Security for this application is handled using roles and forms based authentication. My role was to allocate resources, project schedules, manage work for the team and be involved in the development of the portal. The entire application is written using C# in a .NET environment running on a Windows 2000 server and the backend is SQL Server 2005. Project management was done using Project 2003.
  • Dollar has interfaced with TransUnion to retrieve credit information. We have installed X.509 certificates on the server for authentication purposes and I have built a web service which can retrieve credit scores. Since the users of this application are primarily classic ASP clients, there is a SOAP interface for these clients to be able to access the web service.
