Global Order Management system is the electronic system built to process orders related to trades used in BOA trading. This system is efficient in handling orders even during the off market timings to enable user benefit to the fullest.

An order can be placed by the user through different channels such as PC’s, Smart Phones or Certified Share brokers. Once the order is placed, the evaluation of the order is done based on few main factors, such as the time order is placed, the type of service requested, number of shares involved, price range mentioned, schedule time for execution etc. Based on these inputs the order is evaluated by collecting data from different channels, which in turn help GOM system to efficiently execute the order. In this process many queries are run on the database, and lots of data is fetched and loaded as per the requirement. GOM will ensure that all the orders are executed as required and at the same time Integrity of the system is maintained. For this numerous jobs are run on a scheduled basis. Time to time selective jobs are run and programs are modified and newly added to ensure the data is consistent and appropriate.

Hardware IBM-3090

Languages COBOL, JCL
Tools FILE-AID, ENDEAVOR, EXPEDITER, SMART TEST

Brief of the System:

The increased use and reliance on STP facilitated customer service has the potential to increase fraudulent activity via many of the automated processes and services that are being defined. The risks that arise will include application / origination fraud, account takeover, customer identity theft, transactional fraud, plastic card (e-commerce) fraud.

The experience of the fraud teams around the globe shows that these threats, particularly to the on-line channel, are escalating with increasing levels of sophistication of attack by fraudsters.

Many of these attacks (for example phishing or the use of key loggers) allow the fraudster to capture the customer’s log on credentials and then use them from a device under their control. If the fraudster logs on using legitimate credentials we will treat them as a genuine customer unless other things about their behavior indicate that this may indeed not be the real customer.

The collection and analysis of data is vital to the management of fraud risks. Within the online channel (inc. mobile browsers) a significant amount of relevant data can be gleaned from the customer’s device and online environment. Historically very little, if any, of this data has been captured for fraud purposes but the opportunity now exists to make a step change in our fraud detection capabilities.

We have identified a need for a generic tool which can uniquely and repeatedly identify a specific internet access device (PC, mobile internet etc), and provide the basis for the analysis of this data in a variety of risk analytics engines including account opening / origination risk. Thus this tool will form the basis of online risk management in a number of separate and distinct use cases and will support both banking and cards businesses.
