PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

06/2007 - curr:
Confidential,Wilton, CT- Senior Infrastructure Engineer
RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5 to rev. 2, Sun Solaris utilizing Sun Cluster 3 and Veritas Raid Manager 6. Recently rebuilt the entire infrastructure of the systems that are now currently in production, including development, QA, UAT, and multiple production platforms over 50+ servers.
This operation was running on Sun Solaris 6, 7 and 8 with Sun Cluster 3 and Veritas FS and VM, BEA Weblogic 9 and Apache 1.4.x as well as a caching layer (Coherence) which implements TCP and UDP (multicast) IP. We are now operating on a new redundant infrastructure on IBM 3655 and 3650 servers, storage arrays and Hitachi SANs (approx. 10 TB) utilizing RedHat 5.1 and some 5.0 (due to fiber card driver incompatibilities), apache 2.x, Weblogic 10.01 and Oracle 10g RAC all with NIC bonding (multi-path failover).
Configuration of a multi-tiered Cisco network with numerous VLANs and a number of private networks for RAC interconnects and to isolate the UDP traffic, the caching traffic and to streamline java connections that our application is primarily built on.
Also, I am responsible for maintaining Wintel servers which includes, but is not limited to; Exchange servers, Active Directory servers, DNS servers, Primary and Backup Domain controllers, VOIP/VM servers, network storage devices (SAN, DAS and NAS devices), backup servers (Unix, Linux and Wintel, running NetBackup 5.x) and supporting 100+ users PCs, Mac and peripherals (printers, scanners, blackberries and iPhones, etc. most of which also utilize our VPN and IRC solutions. We are just starting to implement VMWare and I am currently experimenting with snapshot filesystems for database refreshes and backups. I have been getting exposure, mostly by "fire" to dimensional data warehousing and the hardware performance requirements that it dictates. All documentation, root-cause analysis and change management procedures are strictly adhered to and we have just recently been certified type-2 SAS70 compliant within all areas of infrastructure.
