This involves interface scripts for all Shop Floor modules for their manufacturing division. Interfacing is between Progress(mfg/pro) and JDE(Oracle). Support extends to all of their 5 sites across US.

Enhancements and maintenance of existing MFG/PRO distribution system. User interaction for requirements gathering, analysis, design test and implementation.

My role as a Project lead involved System Study and conversion of MFG/PRO environment To JD Edwards Oneworld.
The client retained the manufacturing modules of the old MFG/PRO system and converted the rest into JD Edwards system. This involved design and development of the interface systems, conversion and massaging of data. New reports, design of gateways between Progress and Oracle. Writing of batch Unix scripts as well as new online options. Involved heavy user interaction, project monitoring and implementation schedules.

WEB Enabling of a Distribution Package - Advanced Logic Systems Inc, NJ .
This involved using the Distributed Application Computing methodology to convert an Existing package. The main task was to study functionality and existing Code of all modules in the package, breaking it into independent Business Logic, writing specs and coding them in Progress . These business logics are then deployed on a middle tier App. Server ( or more than one app server in a network) which would communicate with the back end Progress Database.
The front end was a name server which would service open clients using Java or Active-x interface. The Open client interface was generated using the PROGRESS ProxyGen.
