ACADEMIC PROJECTS
M.S Project: "Mathematical modeling of plastication and purging in Reciprocating screw Injection molding"
M.Tech Project: "Dynamic Mechanical, Thermal and Morphological Behavior of Bamboo-Glass/PP Hybrid Composite"
Description
- Fabricated short Bamboo fiber reinforced PP composite (BFRP) and Bamboo glass fiber reinforced hybrid composites (BGRP) employing compression molding technique.
- Used MAPP as a compatibilizer to improve the interfacial adhesion between the fibers and the matrix.
- Examined fiber matrix morphology of the interface region in the composites through the SEM analysis of the tensile fracture specimens.
- Studied Thermal stability in the composites through TGA/DSC thermo grams.
- Carried out Dynamic Mechanical Analysis on both BFRP and BGRP samples.
- Investigated sorption behavior and effects of environmental ageing on the tensile properties of both BGRP and BFRP composites by immersing samples in water for 1200 hours at 25 degree Celsius.
- Various mechanical tests revealed that there is an increase in the tensile, flexural and impact strength in the BFRP composites with an increase in the fiber loading from 10% to 40%.
- BGRP composites prepared using 15 wt% of glass and 15 wt % of bamboo fiber with 2% MAPP, exhibited an improved mechanical performance as compared with the virgin matrix as well as BFRP composites.
B.E Project: "Productivity Improvement in Injection Molded Components"
Description
- Performed productivity improvement on 27" TV rear cover of BPL Ltd in 800 tonnage injection molding machine
- Worked on process setting and trouble shooting of the product in the machine by using design of experiments
- Analyzed the part failure mode and performed product design changes and mold design corrections to increase the productivity and reduce the rejection rate of the components.
- Project successfully improved the productivity by reducing the cycle time of the component and reducing the rejection rate to less than two in a shift
