2002 - Today

Confidential, I managed the Application Development and provided support to their Operations Department for their software. I performed in many areas including user needs analyses, application design, database design, and writing some of the harder programs. I managed a large variety of projects, working with a mixture of full time and contract programmers.

Confidential, I completed a System Performance Analysis of there IBM RS6000, I gave them a list of recommended changes to improve performance of their aging system, which was running about 25% of the speed it did a year ago. Buying them more time to properly plan a system migration to a new platform.
I also did an Assessment Project for their current IT Department. Producing a plan to stabilize and build a better IT Department with proper staffing, structure, and tools to meet the growing demands of the business.

Confidential, Planned and did a migration of hardware and software from an older NCR/ADDS/PICK system to a Microsoft Network using PICK. This project included about 1300 programs and 2400 files. They were converted from an NCR/ADDS Computer to a Microsoft Network with D3.

Started a business to provide more affordable Design, Development, and Support Services to small to mid-size businesses. Provided leadership and consulting services for Accounting systems and served as Technical problem solver. Company grew to over 45 employees. We had over 800 small business customers using our services.

I audited or served as Technical problem solver on several hundred projects like:

• Develop, Design, Enhance and Support Business Applications Had over 600 PICK customers on these types of Support Contracts.
• Platform Migrations in and out of various environments Completed hundreds of migration projects. Planned entire projects from hardware setup through entire cutovers. Usually supplied the hardware platform and peripherals. Performed hardware setup and testing. Converted Software, and moved databases from on platform to another. Invented software to do much of the software and database conversions. Customized any application changes needed. Supported the new installation if the client had no staff.
• Internet Applications Managed several E-Commerce sites being developed, some were hundreds of pages.
• Package Business Software Products written in PICK. Our own TOTAL Manufacturing, Distribution PLUS, COMPLETE Accounting, and other products owned by others.
• Provided Hardware Products for IBM, NCR, HP, NEC, and many others.
• Provided Hardware Maintenance contracts on PC platform Servers, Printers, Networks, etc.
• Provided Support and Retainer Contracts for smaller businesses using PICK so they could get highly skilled Technical Staff without hiring full time Staff.
• Provided Consulting Services for hundreds of industries, software products, and technical skills.
• Provided Email & Web Hosting Services for various applications, including E-Commerce. We also developed Web Pages and E-Commerce sites on the Internet.

• American Computer Services, Inc in Malvern PA from my old partners. Software package developer in about 20 different types of businesses.
• G&H Computer Services in Hatboro, PA. Also a software package developer in 6 different types of businesses.
• Datamed Corporation in Conshohocken PA. Medical Billing software package company.
• Mainline Computer in Frazer PA. Sold and serviced various network systems.
• Eagle Computer Management from Lionville, PA. Distributed software packages in 8 different types of businesses. Also sold and serviced various network systems.

Sold, Managed, and did work for over 800 small business in the North East USA, most were PICK based. Company size grew to 85 employees.

I Audited Project Managers and served as technical problem solver for over 600 projects like:

• Major Chemical Company - Engineering Services Department we did factory automation of all types of manufacturing facilities. I Managed up to 32 people.
• Blue Cross Company HMO Group We combined applications spread across 3 different networks, including integrating Databases and Software. This was then re-implemented onto a new single network with over 800 users at twelve remote locations.
• Large Life Insurance Company Audited Staff of 65 employees who offered Computer support to all their Agencies around the world. Providing detailed plans to improve services, products, and staffing.
• Software Package Owner helped them create a Phila. based support group, including Planning, Hiring, and Managing Staff until a Manager could be found.
• Large Medical Equipment Manufacturer Managed IT Department for 11 months while they found a suitable permanent manager. Additional experience provided upon request.
