Support teams with data extraction, manipulation and analysis from various company data sources. Design, develop, and implement SAS programs to support statistical research projects. Interact cross-functionally with various teams to serve their needs.
- Contributed to the success of Address Based Sampling (ABS) test by selecting a pool of sample housing units. Designed and developed SAS programs to test the accuracy and coverage rates of vender address databases (Claritas and MSG). Compared the final results with vendor address databases to assess the feasibility of implementing ABS in production in order to gain cost benefits while maintain high data integrity.
- Participated in TV&PC initiative – National People Meter Panel Roll Out. Took ownership of the process by writing SAS programs; testing and updating software; writing instructions of the process; analyzing the accuracy of the data; and releasing the TVandPC sample to production Server. Successfully completed the initial roll out of the TV&PC to 150 Field Areas and the remainder of the National Sample roll out as new enhancement of the current panels. The sample will enable online television audience measurement among the same National People Meter households.
- Coded and maintained programs to support Local People Meter (LPM), National People Meter (NPM), and Meter Market (MM) sample selection process. Implemented multiple statistical methods to provide accurate results. Assured timely delivery of accurate data. Improved and adjusted sample selection processes as required by different markets. Wrote VBA codes used in Excel to reduce human error and increase efficiency.
- Took the ownership of developing an efficient process of correcting zip-6 of addresses used in products between Nielsen Media Research metered samples and Claritas. Automated the process by running a CRON routine along with JAVA, UNIX shell scripts, and SAS macro to simplify the process to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Took the lead to revise CONCAM Sample Diagnostic Report process. Successfully convert legacy FORTRAN programs into SAS programs to produce Excel format data to meet client’s needs. Enhanced the report by adding new characteristics such as DVR, HD Capable, HD Capable Receivable, and Digital Cable, retrieving Universal Estimates data from various flat files, and using Excel Macro program increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Expert of SAS Macro. Taught workshops on “SAS Macro Language”, which was attended by 60+ Nielsen employees (on site & online) across various business units and locations. Applied SAS Macro programming skills to consolidate and streamline legacy SAS codes to produce weekly LPM expansion reports. Increased efficiency by reducing runtime by 60%.
- Applied SAS expertise in PBFO (Push Button Force Out) Simulation project. Used SAS to simulate 8 intersected scenarios and created characteristic reports in Excel spreadsheets. Created SAS Macro to increase efficiency and reduce operation errors. The data and reports helped managers to determine the appreciate process threshold levels to be used in practice.
- Produced routine and ad-hoc reports based on various client requirements such as weekly LPM/Hispanic characteristic reports, LA/NY LPM expansion reports in a time manner.
