Qualcomm was a cutting edge supplier of Terrestrial and Satellite communications base on their proprietary technology CDMA. While at Qualcomm I analyzed and designed computer software for the trucking industry. We took an old trucking software package that me modified for use with Qualcomm Satellite Truck tracking system QTOPS. My main areas of responsibility were Billing (MIM, BIM), Rates and Tariffs and Payroll. I also did some work with EDI using APIs for different types of documents. The central piece of the package was a truck dispatch system with real time satellite tracking. We would design a basic package for a customer and the sell them maintenance and service. The customer could select which modules they wanted and we would design the module according to their specifications. QTOPS was written in RPGIII and RPGIV with a heavy concentration of windows containing AS400 SUBFILES.

Programmer Analyst - Confidential, August 1993 -April 1995
Analyzed and designed computer software for the textile industry mainly on the AS400. My main areas of responsibility were Inventory controls (MRP, BOM), Billing (A/R, A/P) and Customer service desk. While at Guilford, a decision was made to redesign our AS400 system in Sybase\'s Power Builder. As a result we had to learn the Power Builder\'s object oriented language. After the transition to POWERBUILDER we needed a way to send large volumes of data from the Sybase tables (RS6000) to the AS400 for real time updates. I was the person chosen to learn INFOPUMP, which is a scripting language similar to C. While at Guilford, I was the only programmer using three different languages (RPG, POWERBULIDER and INFOPUMP).
