Provided project management services on mid-size projects for the Georgia market RF Engineering team and for the CTO RAN Standards group.

Project Management - TechNet/TechAccess Project – Confidential,
Managed IT project for Client-Server software system in a combined NT/UNIX environment. Systems were located in two data centers providing full user redundancy. The system was accessed by over 15,000 technician users and by over 300 local administrators. I managed the final project implementation and the addition of over 100 major system improvements. Full accountability for system uptime and maintenance was within my role. Managed 10-person Help Desk to provide support for those 15K system users and their managers. Provided routine reports outlining Help Desk activity to identify training and next tier support opportunities. Provided semi-annual and annual performance appraisals for Help Desk and other support staff.

Project Team Responsibilities: Managed the ongoing support activities along with the development and rollout of quarterly enhancement and defect-clearing software releases with a small team of in-house subject matter experts, a third-tier help desk (10-20 people), and a number of vendor teams that:

In addition to personnel administration, the job included administering three master contractors and numerous job-specific contracts, maintaining relations with groups inside and outside the company as well as managing a $21+ million dollar construction and engineering budget. The role included leadership in community affairs through BellSouth Telephone Pioneers, United Way and TEACH, a suicide hotline located in Clyde, NC. (1991-1998)

Significant Accomplishments:

Twenty Four US Patent Applications were filed and were reviewed by the U S Patent Office. These were for major system enhancements as well as new computing architectures. Sixteen patents have been awarded. Twenty eight patent numbers have been issued.

I received the 1995 BellSouth President’s Award for Process Improvement for the work accomplished to pioneer new engineering and construction processes in BellSouth Telecommunications.
