- Data Warehouse: Designed and Developed an Oracle 10g PL/SQL Partitioned Data Warehouse to capture and report on student Practice Test data. Designed and implemented a daily process for uploading, extracting and transforming data using custom PL/SQL packages. This process was optimized to reduce execution time from ten hours to less than five minutes. Expanded the warehouse in 2009 to include student test scores data.
- Reporting Upgrade: Upgraded a SQL Server 2000 database reporting system to allow better management of student reporting for the SAT, ACT and PSAT online courses. Created and modified T-SQL database procedures and functions.
- State Access: Designed and developed an access model for TestPrep users across the country to access Peterson’s practice tests. Multi faceted roles ranging from internal and external business requirements gathering, SQL and PL/SQL database design, development and testing. This process has been operational for two years and represents a continuing revenue stream for the company.
- StudentEdge: Designed and developed a PL/SQL authentication process for the company’s flagship SQL-based product which is used by many schools across the country for the SAT, ACT and PSAT online courses.
- Online Courses Upgrade: Managed and coordinated a highly visible multi departmental upgrades throughout 2004. Developed project plans, worked with internal business leaders, external developers and QA to ensure a perfect launch.
- TestPrep Sales Model: Delivered an application and managed implementation of a new web sales model for TestPrep, enabling existing products to be bundled together. Designed and developed extensions to the TestPrep database and UI flow and managed a web developer to deliver the final system.
- TestPrep Database Extension: Extended the database to give access to large number of military users. Improved customer support by designing and developing a database e-mail alert reporting system to track client usage. The alert system significantly reduced the number of issues reported by clients leading to a reduction in the number calls for the customer support team.
- TestPrep Database: Designed, developed and implemented the database which is the foundation for flagship products for the company. It has grown from supporting one test to over 300 tests and has expanded to over ninety tables. Responsible for the creation of the Logical and Physical data models and all objects (Tables, Primary Keys, Foreign Keys, Indexes, Triggers, Sequences etc.), combined with supporting PL/SQL code.
