  • In order to reduce SIRVA’s IT operational expense and capital spend while improving availability and agility, we consolidated four data centers, modernized to blade technology, and virtualized servers using HP’s converged infrastructure technologies centered on BladeSystem, StorageWorks, Microsoft server 2008, VMware and Cisco Nexus. Achieved 88% physical server reduction; New Flex-10 technology providing up to 40GB redundant network connectivity; 99.9% server availability using VMware vSphere high availability (HA) and distributed resource scheduler (DRS); 24x7 hardware monitoring with single pane of glass for all server and blade chassis; 50% reduction in tape costs; 40% reduction in power and cooling costs; 30% reduction in maintenance and licensing costs. Met service-level agreement (SLA) to provision new server in 4 hours or less.
