Working on installations of PEOPLESOFT UPGRADE project where the backend databases are on DB2. Migrated DB2 UDB V8.2 to DB2 DB V9.7 on AIX 6.1 from 32 bit to 64 bit code. Woking on Implementing a server right from scratch like- Installaling, Creating instace, database, tablespaces, tables, indexes & views along with installing IBM DB2 Client on AIX and windows platforms. Migrated databases acrpss subsystems to create working environmnets for development, test and production. Tuning the database using db2advis, dblook, visual explain and other DB2 tools like db2move IMPORT, EXPORT and LOAD. Monitored and scheduled tasks through Crontab. Verified the output files to ensure the tasks were successful or not and resolve the issues. Involved in taking both online, offline incremental backups (compress) of the datases and restoring the databases from the backup copies. Running the import, export and load scripts and sent the log files development team. Extending the table spaces sizes and increasing the logical volumes of the containers. Improving the performance of the database by tuning the database memory parameters like sorts, heaps, sizes, logfilsz, utility heap size and running REORGCHK, REORG, REBING, RUNSTATS on databases.
