Project involves data migration from legacy hospitality systems to Siebel eHospitality 8.0. The legacy systems that are being converted are Marriott’s in-house property management system called Next Generation System (NGS) and New Market International’s Delphi system. This project is called Marriott Consolidated Inventory Project phase-II. The project involves writing end to end data migration scripts using Siebel’s proprietary Enterprise Integration Manager (EIM). The data transformation and cleansing was done using ETL(Extract Transform and load) tool called Informatica Power Center.

Apart form data migration, I was also involved in system integration to a limited extend. I integrated certain legacy applications with Siebel using Siebel EAI technologies. I configured Siebel for receiving in-bound web services as well as using out-bound web services provided by external applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing configuration files to be used for EIM process.
  • Writing wrapper shell scripts for running EIM processes on server manager prompt and Informatica ETL workflows.
  • Writing Informatica mapping scripts for EIM table data load.

Worked as a technical consultant for IBM US’s client, Starwood Hotels and Resorts. The project is called eSales support and development and is being executed from Starwood Technology Center in Braintree, Massachusetts. As part of Level 2 support - it takes care of problem determination to identify what area might have caused a data problem, such as an EIM load, application problem, or a legacy application migration problem. I was the application owner for the sales application which is used by around 150 strong sales team throughout America and is considered a very critical application for the client and its downtime has cost implication. In the capacity of the application owner I was also responsible for coordinating other support teams in case of severity one issues.
