PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2010 - 2011 Confidential, West Chester, PA Consultant

  • Consultant working on major Cost Restructuring Project for company
  • JD Edwards, RPG code: creating reports, batch updates, and interactive programs.
  • Subfile Matrix program for Landed Cost Rule
  • Maintenance programs over Item Master

1999 – 2009 Confidential, Sinking Spring, PA I.T. SPECIALIST

  • Converted manual work order processing to eWork Order: RPG programs as follows: subfile selection/update program to allows work orders to be processed by status, and to call a second subfile program which displays alternate BOM and Routing records; barcode printing program to create updated labels for shop floor users; use of physical file triggers to capture changes in data, calling an RPG program to produce an audit log; batch update programs to receive/process the inventory or labor transactions and update the appropriate files; subfile inquiry programs to display results of these updates, as well as transaction history. Wrote new scripts to capture new information and enhance edits. Create interfaces between JDE and DSI. Demonstrate to front line managers.
  • Automated Inventory Allocation – wrote a system to capture inventory distribution data for Alcon satellites (GIRS) and also calculate correct allocation of inventory for future demand. Result: tremendous time savings for Materials Dept and vastly improved accuracy. This was a complex series of programs which included maintenance programs over definition files (add/change/delete system constants definitions); batch update programs which processed current transactions against the system constants, creating another set of transaction records to be used as input to the allocation program; and the allocation program itself, which incorporated forecast data by product line and time fence against the newest transactions, to create the inventory amount that needed to be allocated for the time period under consideration.
  • Wrote new Budget / Payroll system for Finance Dept: This was a large series of RPG programs which were needed to replace the manual method in use at the time. File maintenance programs were first written to establish the Employee Salary Header/Detail records; batch update programs were written to factor in promotions and rate increase percentages; RPG programs were written to duplicate Excel spreadsheets and factor in the formulas used by the Controller to produce the Overhead Analysis Report and the Sales Tax Analysis report; subfile entry and maintenance programs were written to allow add/update/deletion of expense items. Subfile programs were also written to allow selection and processing of this data by Business Unit (single or multiple). Interface programs were written to map this data to the JDE General Ledger Files.
  • Create interface to allow Shop Floor supervisors to approve labor and attendance automatically. This was an extremely complex program which processed labor on/off transactions, by time and date, to artificially create the attendance on/off transactions, so that the DSI programs which displayed and processed employee activity for the previous day, could still be used as before by the supervisors. This program had to mimic the attendance records normally produced by the DSI system, down to every code and date/time stamp. Given the problem of 3rd shift and midnight crossover, there were many complex routines which did date conversions, time conversions, calculation of time intervals, checking for previous transactions, etc.
  • Improve inventory accuracy through order inquiry and report programs for support components
  • Technical Documentation: program specifications; protocols; test data sheets; requirements matrix; IQ-OQ-PQ; IT Procedures; Business Procedures
  • Help Desk, web design, client server, Visual Studio reports, SQL Server procedures

  • Subfile programs which called second and third subfile programs, linking together to create correct product and shipping container combinations. Link to RPG program which created data records to be used as input to Lawson software barcode printing package.
  • Y2K COBOL and RPG conversions for several clients
  • Redesigned and rewrote entire Shop Floor Data Collection and Reporting at Heyco Metals. This was a complex network of system constants definition and file maintenance programs, which in turn were used in conjunction with shop floor labor on/off transactions, to display subfile programs which showed a running total of machine operations for that particular job. One subfile program in particular was written to dynamically expand the number of columns displayed on the screen horizontally, as well as new transactions vertically, in accordance with the toolset used and the metal processing operations for that job.
