HEALTH ADVOCATE Managed healthcare decisions for family member and provided care over the last eleven months due to highly complicated and life-threatening health issues. This obligation has ended, but the experience brought into play my abilities to organize, negotiate, coordinate and manage health care and insurance issues. The care for this family member involved health care providers of almost every level from the local area and Los Angeles. The process involved ensuring all information was shared between providers and each effort was fully coordinated. Careful management of all test, procedure and surgical results and daily health status information was required.

ADMINISTRATOR'S SECRETARY

  • Riverside County Office of Education Provided administrative support to the CA BTSA Cluster 6 Region Director, Program Coordinator for Online Induction Project, and Credentialing Specialist.   • As a result of the CA Governor's decision to convert education funding from program-based to locally-controlled funding, the Riverside County Office of Education made the decision to transition the traditional BTSA program to a mostly-online program, mandating the program become financially independent from the RCOE. The decision would result in the future elimination of many department Administrator and support positions responsible for providing traditional hands-on training for the following academic year. This in turn affected my position the day following the successful launch of the online BTSA program occurring on 9/18/2013.

RELOCATION/HEALTH ADVOCATE Upon notification of an imminent layoff in November of 2011 with the San Diego Unified School District, I made the decision to resign from my position to take advantage of the opportunity to relocate to Riverside County to be closer to the majority of my family. Shortly thereafter, a family member became seriously ill, delaying my relocation, which was eventually completed in December of 2012.
