Led the design and development of an automated drink dispensing machine for McDonalds Corporation, for world-wide use in their stores. The machine utilizes six stepper motor driven actuators. The “Y” and “Z” actuators, with vacuum cups, pulls six different size cups from dispense tubes, positioned from front to back on the left side of the machine. The cups are delivered to an “X” actuator pocket and placed under the ice and soda.
Filled cups are then placed on three staging walking beams and moved to the front for the operator. Up-to three customer orders and nine cups are available to the operator.
When a cup is removed from the staging lanes, it will be replaced with another if the demand is there.
Soda production is increased by 20% over the previous design and only requires one operator.
