Graduate Research Assistant Athens, GA Confidential Aug 2007 - Present Network Systems Security Lab (NSS)

  • Created a bot based on YMSG protocol that has an intelligence of a chat bot to help in detecting other spam bots.
  • Spam detecting bot first analyzes the current conversations in the chat room and then detects tentative spam bots based on different filters and then interacts with them to be certain that they are spam bots.
  • Implemented a machine learning system (Bayesian Network) using a open-source package to detect bots without interacting with them.
  • Funding for the NSS lab is provided by National Science Foundation and Georgia Research Alliance. We partner with the Georgia Tech Denial- Of-Information group on this project.

Graduate Student Athens, GA Confidential 2007 - 2009

  • Created a project called BlogB(zar) [Blog Recommendation System] in Java that was inspired by the recommendation system of Netflix and LinkedIn. This system recommends users a variety of blogs based on their meta-data (tags) and comments on their blogs.
  • Designed and developed two Facebook (FriendRanker & MyEvents) applications to study the intricate details of social networks. One of the app ranks your friends based on your relationships and photo-tags. Another app recommends different events that the user might be interested to attend based on what his friends are attending.

Quality Assurance Intern Columbus, OH Confidential Summer 2008 PassKey - A Prescriptive Learning System

  • Analyzed the underlying J2EE design of the PassKey online learning system and proposed a black box testing design process to be used in all the upcoming online learning systems.
  • Used tools like QTP (Quick Test pro), LoadRunner and also defined better test-cases based on functionality.

Software Developer Intern Confidential Spring 2006 Automation and consolidation of project based tools.

  • Requirement phase: sat down with the Tools group to understand their problem and assess the proposed solution.
  • Design phase: followed Wipro's project development guidelines and created a backend working architecture.
  • Development phase: developed the solution in Java and with server-side scripting using PHP & JSP.
  • Testing Phase: testing which was done with the help of different licensed testing tools. Some of the tools used were JTest, JCover. Improvement was done on the basis of the outcome in the coverage and effective implementation.
