Visual Information Specialist Senior Graphic Designer

Perform visual information assignments and design work involving the communication of information through creative conceptual thinking. Visual and multi-media/interactive materials produced include brochures, logos, exhibits, posters, presentations and web design. Develop and maintain close interface with customers to establish technical specifications and determine specific or general subject material to be developed in the arena of Surface Navy Technology and development in support of the Department of Navy, and the Naval Surface Warfare Center. Receive and review incoming work. Provide guidelines for clients as to concepts, production and manage tasks for proper completion. Suggests new techniques and solutions to produce graphics of various output in forms, such as: raster images, vector images, electronic and inter-active briefs, color hard copies, color viewgraphs and /or electronic files for web. Create design work utilizing various software's such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, Macromedia Freehand, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, on either platform Mac/PC . Perform scanning, layout/design and file manipulation for 4 color process printing and large scale exhibit design, and production. Very experienced conducting press sheet inspections. Coordinate budget, and commercial contracting of artwork for major departments, such as recruiting, public affairs, and warfare technologies used for surface navy. Responsible for all aspects of a job, ensuring that all contracted work is inspected and errors corrected. Able to arrive at solutions that are amiable to both graphics customers and contractor.
