Over the years, the city of Takoma Park's web site has grown large, cumbersome, and hard to navigate. To publish current content, many of the cities agencies have all but abandoned the city site and now have blogs, mailings lists, and have created sites outside the city site. Customer is a job site for former military looking for work in the civilian sector. I co-ordinate with employers, handling technical issues and serve as the Systems Administrator for the site. This company has classified jobs as well as tens of thousands LF of resumes of job seekers with sensitive information. I have made this site secure and troubleshoot, fix, and report break in attempts. Some of this is by working with the programmer to fix the code sometimes it involves tracing logs to LF pinpoint the attempts and report them to the proper authorities.
- I was originally hired to troubleshoot and maintain the java based web application. The site was crashing and the company was losing employer customers because of the problems. I fixed many of the chronic issues, setup a new backup server, tightened security, and performed upgrades to the server to stabilize the site.
