Confidential, 2008 – 2011
Confidential, Business Process Automation Architect. 2008-Present

  • Analyze legacy pre-acquisition EDS (paEDS) Infrastructure Technology Outsourcing (ITO) Event/Incident management system and delivery process running on top of this system. Architect an integration solution to apply Business Process Automation (BPA) on EDS Incident Management Delivery ops by integrating it to current BPA solution implemented in pre-acquisition HP (paHP) OS 2006/7 (see below).
  • Designed and implemented a sophisticated event message flow within the existing HP ES BPA solution ( based on BizTalk and InRule) that integrates with HP Operations Orchestration (HPOO pa-Opsware Run-Book Automation product) and launches HPOO flows based on criteria expressed as business rules (InRule) that map events (errors) to problems and those problems to resolutions ( process flows within HP OO). This integration allows service delivery operations within HP to link application and platform alarms generated from customer IT environments to an HP OO flow (graphical representation of a process) that resolves the issue. The linkage is established by a business rule and the flows contain cook-book-like instructions that resolve the problem. Both the InRule business rules and the HP OO flows are managed, created and deployed by the delivery operations without any intervention of the support and development teams that own of the solution.
  • Led and coached a team of senior and junior engineers from US and China in the development and support of the solution described above.

Confidential, Service Delivery Automation Architect. (2006-2008)

  • Technical Lead in the development of the next generation Service Automation infrastructure based on BizTalk 2006 and InRule (a .NET based Business Rule Engine).
  • Designed innovative and sophisticated solutions for large customer service delivery organizations within HP impacting 60k employees and 2K enterprise customer accounts and radically shifting HP’s Technology Services delivery models from phone and call-centre based model to end-to-end automated delivery.
  • Designed and built the most large and sophisticated BizTalk 2006 solution in HP (two back-end infrastructures, 30+ BizTalk servers total) serving all (500) paHP Outsourcing Services customers. Processing 60k+ transactions per day that carry out fully automated complex service delivery processes. This solution uses InRule to normalize, qualify and correlate operating system and application alarms generated within the IT environment of HP’s customers. Designed and built in InRule the business model on which the rules are based as well as the rule flow (the high-level order of steps within the overall business process hosted in BizTalk and within which the diverse types of rules are evaluated).
  • Designed and built, in the BizTalk solution mentioned above, a unique simulation capability, which is an
  • essential production function, that allows business users to assess the impact of the business rules they author to the live business operation without jeopardizing it. A method to simulate business rules with real and life data is critical for business users because of the “stateful” and time-dependant nature of their correlation rules. These business rules are called stateful because they associate event messages with those normalized and processed previously. Therefore the solution has a state database that contain a history of previously processed data and that have a direct effect on the decision made by the rules. Design the Microsoft SQL server database that tracks the event messages.
  • Helped software vendor InRule to defined its road map so that it aligns better with HP´s business need. InRule incorporated in its features a BizTalk Adapter that was based on my design of the InRule BizTalk adapter that I built for HP.
