Information Security Engineer
Role lead for Quest Authentication Service QAS and Defense in Depth DID project. Analyze the security threat that users might experience and implementing strategies to prevent or minimize them in all. Migrating UNIX account to Active Directory authenticated by Quest Authentication Service QAS software in order to limit the amount of passwords a user needs to remember as well as providing a centralized point for administration. This is done by mapping a local user to an Active Directory account, so the user can log in with his UNIX user name and Active Directory password. Worked on host security issues on multiple UNIX platforms including Linux, Solaris and AIX based servers Web based application and database security, by unlocking users' accounts, resetting password, and setting other Unix Attributes. Retrieve password file for users, worked on override user account attributes on the local UNIX host. This allows me to use the identity information from Active Directory but modify individual attributes on certain hosts as needed. Also worked on UNIX enabling AD users accounts by setting certain attributes to appear as a standard UNIX user and running OAT form the UNIX command line after migrating users for flexible resolution of user name rules to help match local UNIX accounts to Active Directory accounts. Prepare Change Record to proceed with major implementation such as overrides, move computer objects in Active Role Service, make change to GPOs, and add groups and UNIX users to the global domain controller using VASTOOL.Work on Quest Management Console for UNIX to add, delete, profile, join, unjoin, and update software on UNIX boxes for proper authentication process of the servers. Installed Windows 7 operating system on new laptops through image using ghost, I wiped hard drives containing health records using Derek's wiping tool and then do a fresh Windows XP install on old laptops.I installed network printers and configured them on the company's network.
