Senior Consultant to Hire

Originally brought on as consultant for Y2K date checking and conversion of entire non-air billing system code. Consisted of about 300K lines of PL/I code. Most code was PL/I, but also involved some COBOL, REXX and PERL server scripts. Hire responsibilities for development of new PL/1 programs to extract non-air data, determine billing categories and create proper data format for invoicing and creating customer reports of consolidated data. Charged with maintaining code, JCL and PROCs to ensure the integrity of overnight and monthly batch processing. Created PERL scripts to move data from servers to MVS to remove manual process. Made an analysis of code and methods and made suggestions on improvements to save time and money that were later implemented. Moved to new department to create and maintain PL/I and SAS programs that gathered data from each corporate department to create finance reports for executive management.
