Dear Human Resource Director:

This letter is in response to the job posted online. I believe that I would be an ideal candidate and should be considered for the position. I would meet the requirements for the position based on my education, work experience, and work ethic.

I received my Bachelor Degree of Business Administration with concentration in Accounting on June 8, 2012. In my accounting courses, I have learned how to use and carry out accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenues, and expenses. In addition to that, we have learned how to create statements of owner' s equity, income statements, balance sheets, and trial balances. Also, I have taken classes in QuickBooks and Peachtree. Along with what is already listed, I have taken classes that outline different methods of accounting including, but not limited to, cost accounting, first in first out, and last in first out. This is a wealth of learning experience that I can apply to a work environment, especially with my business courses.

In working at the University of Michigan in the Emergency Medicine Department, I' ve maintained the many accounts and project grants for the department as the Account Clerk. I am responsible for updating each statement of activity, running monthly reports, and reconciling each account using Business Objects. I am also responsible for placing a weekly scrub order and Office Max order for our department and carrying out account payable procedures. Most importantly, I have experience with UM policies and procedures and am eager to learn more. I look forward to moving forward with my career in the accounting field.

As the Accounting Intern at US Staffing, I learned the importance of detail, great customer service, and how to communicate using different kinds of technologies. I also carried out projects to determine the profitability of specific customers. Detail in accounting is my number one priority. I am driven to succeed and push myself to finish every job that I have started. I am eager to use various methods of accounting and carry out various analytical skills retained from my many classes. Technology is changing every day and I adapt easily to each new technology. I am willing to learn and able to quickly apply the knowledge I am given.

Having a good work ethic is important to both an individual and a company. When it comes to arriving to work on time, I am very punctual. I have had perfect attendance all through school and am proud to let employers know that I am committed to excellence. I am eager to start my career in accounting and pride myself on my professionalism.
I would appreciate meeting for an interview to have a chance at the position to see if I am a good fit. I can be reached easily on my home phone. I' m excited about the possibility of meeting you and look forward to hearing from you!
