Security Master File

  • The purpose of the SMF is to store information pertaining to all types of assets that can be held by any BBH client. These assets can be anything from standard financial instruments to physical items like paintings, sealed envelops, etc, held in the BBH vault. The SMF provides a single point of entry for the receipts, validation and maintenance of security information as well as up to date pricing.
  • Responsibilities included:
  • Development of AUTO set-ups for new asset type processing utilizing DB2 triggers, MQSeries and DB2 Stored Procedures. The business purpose of this project is to eliminate many of the manual tasks that are required to process trades that have security errors/issue, and to maximize the number of trades that can be processed through the SMF Pending Request auto-setup program.
  • System analysis, design, development and implementation of interfaces to comply with the requirements of OFAC Office of Foreign Asset Control . The project involves sending a batch overnight feed from the Custody SMF to the FircoSoft File Filter. This feed contains security reference information for securities previously set up.
  • Design, specification development, coding and implementation of conversion processes to set-up and price SWAPs data from a new vendor, Markit RED.
  • Design and development of on-line and batch price rollback process for a given pricing vendor based on a specific time period.

Warehouse data extraction is accomplished via CICS/DB2 applications running in the background.

Responsible for design, development and implementation of CICS/DB2 Custody Valuation system. The system calculates Global Investor custody position values based on their settled and traded holdings.
