- As an E3 Test Technician my responsibilities include support of EMC T E of presently used and newly developed avionics and weapons systems. The T E of these systems are completed as installed on Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, UAV, UAS, UGV and other DoD, US Military, FMS and commercial platforms. The EMC testing consists primarily of knowing and executing standard procedures for Intrasystem and Intersystem EMC test methods and procedures utilized by the NAWC Code 5.4.4.5 EMC T E Branch.
- Analysis of equipment and their specifications, technical publications, schematics, wiring and block diagrams and other pertinent data to properly operate and test the system, subsystem or equipment under test
- Recognizing and interpreting insufficient documentation of new or modified systems, subsystems or equipment
- Altering or adapting present test procedures and/or test equipment in order to achieve optimum test results
- Preparing EMC test plans to be conducted on avionics and weapons systems, subsystems and equipment
- Performing DC Bonding and Grounding tests and Conformance Specification checks of avionics equipment in addition to RF sweep measurements RF line loss, VSWR, filter selectivity and isolation
- Ensuring proper test equipment availability and calibration in order to meet the test plan objectives. Also performing calibrations of certain test equipment
- Conducting testing of avionics and weapons systems and subsystems, collecting and recording the test results, analyzing and interpreting the test data and incorporating the data into table, graph or chart form for the project engineers analysis
- Identifying deficiencies and making recommendations for corrective actions to the project engineer, troubleshooting deficiencies and installing temporary fixes, when approved, for possible

- Preparing detailed test reports and deficiency reports for completed tests
