Consultant VMware Engineer

• Developed, planned and tested VMware View linked-clones in floating non-persistent desktop pools. Developed templates and optimization of Master Images as Stage 1 of a migration and expansion of the current VDI environment. Created detailed documentation of all processes.
• Provided support of VMware View environment which included, VCenter 5.5, VMware ESXi 5.5 Servers, VMware View Composer, View Connector Server, Clustering, DRS, HA, and Security Server and Virtual machines VDI plus Thin Clients in Test QA and Production environments.

• Researched and Designed a Single Sign On process that uses Proximity readers and RFID Security badges to provide Two Factor Authentication into Active Directory using VMware View VDI client on Zero Client WSYE devices and normal PC. • File and Print Migration from Novell to AD Active Directory along with DataCenter migration consolidation. Served as Lead Engineers in the design, testing and implementation of an agency wide File and Print migration. • Server Team Engineer Project Coordinator 2007-2012: Provide daily and sometimes nightly support of our current computing environment. This includes support and maintenance of various technologies including Novell, Microsoft, SANs, VMware 3.x and 4.x, Linux, NEC Servers and Applications, IBM Servers, Clusters, IBM Director, Patchlink. This includes third level support.
• Technical Project Lead Architect CAD PID Folder Trustee Migration 2008-2009. Designed, Tested and Implemented migration of CAD Project ID folders from old novel Cluster to the new Novell environment. Initially each CAD PID folder had over 704 Trustees and other rights assignment. We reduced the number to 112 per folder. We decreased the Trustee Rights assignments while maintaining the folder structure. We used extensive scripting and other methods to redistribute the rights there by reducing total number assignments on the CAD folder structure from several Million to about half a Million.
• Print Environment Architect, designer and third level Support. 2008 - Present. Designed, tested and implemented two print environments in 4 years with no interruption to the end user.
• PCD Water Meter Migration Project2010-2011. Technical Project Lead in the design, testing and implementation of the Water Meter Migration Project using radio signal to collect data.
• WTC badging system migration2009-2010:Work as a part of a large team that migrated the WTC badging system on the Lenel Server Running on NEC. This includes working with drastically new technology such as NEC servers and Express Cluster which provides Redundancy between sites and well as Lenel and Enterprise Air which provide wireless connectivity to hand held scanners.

• Served as Consultant during the process of migration to a from Netware to Active directory. Installed, administered and troubleshoot Novell Netware 6.5 OES servers running E-director 8.7.3 for a Global Pharmaceutical company. This included Level 3 support for all Novell related services, applications and features such as, EDIR, SLP, LDAP, Active Directory, Norton Anti-Virus, Netbackup, Backup Exec. • Built and integrated almost 100 Citrix servers running on Win2003 or Win2000 for these projects.
• Developed and utilized process to remotely install Server OS using Virtual CD mounted off the RIB cards. This is significant because it allowed a team of 2 engineers to remotely install almost 100 servers servicing North America, Asia Pacific and Europe.
• Also developed and utilized a method of remotely installing the OS through a NIC using standard Build.
• Citrix: Migrated applications from legacy Windows and Novell, environments to Citrix METAFRAME XP. This included application integration and tweaking the Citrix servers, etc. This also included publishing and testing Citrix applications and working with the Citrix Management Console extensively.
• Identified and updated all Cluster and SAN used in the Novell 6 and 6.5environment. This includes working with Console One, I-Manager, I-Monitor.
• Responsible for planning, development, and distribution on to Windows and Novell servers of various monitoring tools, such as LT Auditor, File Census, ESM, Tivoli, CIM, IBM directory, HP open Manager, etc.
• As part of the Backup remediation project, was responsible for identifying and mapping the backup environment, including ARCSERVE, NETBACKUP, and Backup Exec on Novell and Windows servers in the environment. This includes determining Storage device.
• Help to provide WAN and LAN connectivity to Citrix Farms by configuring NIC cards, testing network and ensuring ports are opened. Also provided various levels of Connectivity and or Authentication in a multi-tier application environment. Example, OBDC, SQL, other Databases, mainframe and UNIX.
