Also provide legal research using Lexis Nexis, Court Link, West Law in order to provide AUSA’s with case laws that will assist them in trial preparation. Prepare all financial litigation request forms for cases and process it with the Fiscal Department. Prepare all reimbursement forms regarding travel for AUSA’s and for witnesses testifying for Grand Jury or Trial. Open and Close files for the United States Attorney’s Office. Follow up with Federal Agents and local police departments regarding cases. Provide AUSA’s with any new information collected from Agents or the police. File information packages in the Federal Clerk of Courts which include Information, Certificate of Trial Attorney, Penalty Sheets, Arrest Warrants and original Waiver as well as Notices or Motions using CM/ECF for AUSA’s and any other legal documents that needs to be filed etc. Daily update any notices, motions or any legal documents that were filed using CM/ECF into the Q-Drive File. Request holds to the United States Marshal’s using proper documentations. Prepare discoveries for AUSA’s, scan high volumes of copies, make copies, go through everyday mail and distribute it accordingly, compose routine correspondence, send out mail, answer a high volume of calls per day, also serve as a backup assistant for other AUSA’s when their assistant is not present as well as receptionist for the Major Crimes Division.
