As a consultant for Merrill Lynch, analyze, design, develop and maintain applications that show the various analytical performance reports of the clients' investments. Designs databases, reviews and tunes DB2 tables and application codes for efficient DB2 and file access. These are mostly middleware CICS applications that are called from the .NET front end websites. The analytical performance websites are used by both the financial analysts of Merrill Lynch and the investors.
- The requests coming from the front-end financial analysts are encapsulated in MQ records. These MQ records are then processed by DB2 stored procedures which are automatically triggered. At the end of the process, an MQ reply message is sent to an MQ which is then displayed by the front-end application.

- As a consultant for Metavante, assigned to the International Group which provides support and development of core banking systems for the company's foreign bank clients which includes the biggest banks in Bulgaria, Austria, Czech Republic and the Philippines. Designs databases, reviews and tunes application codes for efficient file access. Datawarehoused information is transported to clients in XML or CSV formats.
- Designed, developed and implemented a highly successful middleware system that is service-oriented architecture compliant SOA . The system is comprised of many small modules where each module gets a request using an MQ message. The module then processes that message and performs only one specific business function. At the end of the process, it sends a reply using an MQ message. Examples of these modules are bank inquiry, internal bank transfers, external bank transfers, bank deposits, and bank withdrawals. The same set of modules are used no matter where the request originates from e.g. ATM, telephone voice response system, web banking, and call centers. We would offer bank clients a package consisting of typical day-to-day banking modules. They can add more modules as their product offering grows. For the developer, it is easier to maintain each granular module because the business function is contained in only one module. For the client, they can customize their own system by using the modules as building blocks.
- We continue to support Cash Management system, which was added to the base banking system. I was the Technical Project Leader in the development of this project.
- Was on-site at one of our international clients to develop, setup and resolve issues with their customized web-based teller system.
- Additionally, I was able to resolve many of the clients' outstanding production problems in a few days.
- All back-end development was done in a mainframe system utilizing COBOL, CICS, MQ and VSAM.
- Front-end is implemented using internet browser and developed using VB and MS SQL.
- Testing tools were developed using PHP and C
Environment: COBOL,Assembler, VSAM, CICS, REXX,Smarttest, MQ Series, JCL, VB, MS SQL, PHP, C ,Microsoft Office Suite, TSO, ISPF, TMON

This billing system database is maintained in three locations in the US. The new Vision system consolidates different billing systems into one. It is implemented using DB2 UDB and CICS on the backend, and XML and HTML and VB on the frontend. MQs are used to pass data between the front-end and back-end..

Junior Manager, Project Leader, Technical Lead and Senior Programmer/Analyst for CONFIDENTAIL
- Led a team of 11 consultants 5 Mainframe Developers, 4 Business Analysts, 3 Power Builder developers
- This system provides the accounting of trade transactions for clients where Bank of New York acts as the custodian for their retirement programs, such as 401k.
- Developed and maintained the back end which is a mainframe system utilizing Cobol, DB2, UDB, CICS, MQ and VSAM. Designs databases, reviews and tunes DB2 tables and application codes for efficient DB2 and file access.
- The frontend and the test tools were developed using PowerBuilder.
- The accounting system of trade transactions is a real-time system that gets trade data e.g. buy, sell and dividend distribution, from various clients. These incoming trades are encapsulated in MQ records and are dropped in multiple MQ queues to allow for multiple concurrent transactions to process several MQ records at any given time. The trading information is maintained in DB2 databases. This data is accessed and updated using DB2 stored procedures that are called by the transactions.
- The trade data coming from the clients are processed using rules that are dynamically maintained by our accountants using the front-end PowerBuilder application. The rules are entered dynamically and should be useable real-time by the back-end process. To achieve this, we developed a small language compiler and interpreter. The rules are part of that small language, and are compiled into prefix code. The prefix code is then interpreted by a backend program as it processes the trade data. The result of the interpretation then saved in the DB2.
- Provided hands-on technical skills, which includes analysis and design, program-coding, problem resolution, and performance measurement and tuning.
- Involved in performing a one-week stress testing of the whole accounting system. Analyzed the system to improve its performance. Bank of New York is a CMM compliant company.
