PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Office Automation Clerk (Intern)
Dates: June - September 2010
Organization: Confidential, Office of Research Facilities
Address: Bethesda Campus, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland
Duties:
I worked in the Architectural and Engineering (A & E) Drawing Repository of the Real Property Management Office under the direction of Elizabeth Crawford, the program manager. My main responsibilities were to help the drawing team with a data migration project. The project involved migrating architectural and engineering drawings of NIH facilities from a WD3-based platform to a SharePoint platform. Most of the drawings I worked on were for the Bethesda campus. In addition to uploading drawings to the database, I had to complete metadata for each drawing uploaded. This required me to review each drawing and determine the discipline, drawing type, submittal status, submittal date, project title, and work request number. The task was difficult at first because I was not familiar with A & E drawings but became easier as I learned how to review and read drawings. I also renamed over 200 scanned drawings for building 49. These were the original as-built drawings prior to the construction phase. Additional duties included scanning drawings and assisting customers. I attended regular meetings with the other staff members and a monthly meeting with the organization's management where I had to report on my accomplishments for the month. The experience in the RPMO was very positive for me and gave me exposure to a federal agency as well as the architectural and construction industries. I also learned how to use new software including AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE:

Youth Volunteer
Dates: July-August 2002
Organization: Confidential - Summer Camp
Address: 9402 Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro, Maryland
Duties:
As a worship leader, my duties consisted of ensuring the order of service was timely and in accordance with the program. I made church announcements, greeted guests, and conducted prayer prior to offering. As a youth mentor, my duties included placing and receiving phone calls to youth, arranging youth meetings, making calls to assign persons, and submitting monthly reports, and copying and filing documents. I conducted internet research for the church, and briefed youth leaders on my findings. I also assisted in the administrative office with filing and typing general correspondence. As a Jubilee Praise dancer, I was a dancer in a group with 12 other members assigned to perform at two church services monthly. I assisted the dance director by calling members to remind them of rehearsal times, and I assisted younger members with dance routines. I also assisted the dance team with planning activities and fundraisers. I participated in all youth activities including drama presentations, youth car washes, youth summits, and youth services. This was a very positive experience for me and I enjoyed helping the younger members and dancers.
