- The Fuel Issue Management system known as Fuel Hawk is to record and/or control all aspects of fuel handling for railroad locomotives and track equipment. This includes metered deliveries to fuel storage tanks, metered issues to locomotives either at fixed fuelling stanchions or from Direct-To-Locomotive vendors. The initial system does also include inquiries of these events by locomotive and location. Additional components will integrate optional Radio Frequency RF transponder tags on the locomotives into the issue process, estimate fuel use for a given territory and train as well as recommend and control departure fuel levels. The system will also detect unusual fuelling events, potential fuel losses through leaks or theft and locomotives and/or engineers that appear to be using excessive amounts of fuel.
