Lowe's has launched a repair service strategy that controls and actively manages the repair process As part of this Siebel Call Center was enhanced in order to support OPE BOR Balance of Repairs products along with Major appliances.   • Scheduled processes were built to provide the feed to Siebel staging environment from source systems so that these feeds are consumed by Siebel and loaded into Siebel base tables.
  • The mission is to improve core EPP / RP retail selling, Case Management and Repairs Appointment Scheduling capabilities by expanding the Store POS system to sell Lowe's administered EPP's / RP's and the Siebel CRM application to include support for OPE and the balance of the serviceable products including products eligible for Replacement Plan coverage BOR for residential and / or commercial customers.
  • In R6 EPP Asset Purchase history projects, the Asset Purchase history database which holds historical assets and EPP information have been enhanced to support the Move the Line MTL initiative which is aimed at decoupling the payment authorization and fulfillment process and moving the settlement to the point of fulfillment. With this, EPPs would be activated when item is fulfilled and also it supports the Bundle EPP sales.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE PROJECT:

Confidential is onsite manager and engages in understanding the requirements from Business User, developing Functional Specification document and assist the offshore team to prepare the Technical specs, Build and provide SIT , UAT Deployment support. He has been the team lead of 2 successful large size projects with Lowe's These projects were extremely complex in nature and involved multiple integrations where each integration is developed by a separate vendor. Co-coordinating with vendors and working together with them to meet the project goals and objectives are one of the most challenging tasks. In addition to his day to day tasks, Saikat also helped the offshore team to come up with detailed design document, code Test results review etc. His in-depth domain knowledge coupled with sound technical knowledge in mainframe area helps him to understand the complex business requirements clearly and design technical solution around it. He also studies the system and suggest ways to remove manual intervention in Business processes.

He also estimates the task and plan the work so that the team can assume task within its capacity. During the course of the project Saikat also capture effort, schedule defect metrics to track the health of the project and participates in delivery quality audits to ensure compliance.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

  • The Small Project Request System in the Corporate Benefit Funding area of MetLife Institutional Business has several applications. The Pension Closeout Tracking System PCTS is the administrative system for Annuity Contracts. Its primary functionality includes maintaining individual participant eligibility record, calculating benefits, Retirement Death processing to feed the repetitive payment system and providing the data for reserve calculation.
  • The Group Payment System GPAY is a payout system for annuity and pension business. It processes the payments at individual level and tracks the payment details, takes care of accounting, Tax processing Regulatory mailing.
  • PCTS GPAY supports two types of contracts
  • IPG Immediate participant group - In this contract the employees can be added at any point of time and the period may change. The premium charges, expenses, etc. are calculated at different time frames, say monthly/quarterly/annually. MetLife is not liable to pay the annuitants if the company goes bank corrupt.
  • Closeout contract - Once the contract is established it is frozen. No changes can be made to contract. Employees cannot be added to the contract and the period is well defined. Advantage of Closeout contract is that MetLife is liable to pay some percentage of annuities to the annuitants even if the employer goes bank corrupt.
  • The project scope is take care of small enhancements like to load new deferred contracts in PCTS, commence payment in either Bulk Check or Group Payment system during retirement processing, one time issuance of Bonus for certain groups, yearly Cost of Living Allowance processing, enhancements on Year-end Tax Calculation, Tax Form creation and Privacy Mailing generation.

The VANTAGE-ONE Repetitive Payment System RPS provides automatic calculation and preparation of repetitive payments that become due under fixed and variable annuity contracts and supplemental contracts. RPS supports all forms of annuity payments. The system also provides for the varied and complex payment administration of structured settlements. Once an annuitant and one or more payees are established on the database, the payments due on the contract are under control of RPS. Payments are made according to parameters contained on benefit segment records which are subsidiary to the annuitant record, or to parameters on the Annuitant Record in the case of interest only, fixed payment, life expectancy or trust options.

It has a CICS based online system that is used for both financial and non-financial updates and inquiries.
