Test Lead

  • Leading Signaling conformance team. Responsibilities include assigning work, monitoring test progress, evaluating test results and reporting final results to the customer interaction team.
  • Key member involved in creating the certification program for Tata and MTS Fast Track testing process, a process that contributed towards improving time to market of handsets and enhancing Qualcomm’s overall chipset penetration in Indian market.
  • Key member involved in validating the IOT testing on GSM/UMTS devices over BSNL network
  • Drove end to end EVRC-B signaling implementation. Tasks included identifying test scenarios and test platforms, designing test execution methodology, validating the test cases and ultimately releasing test plan and procedure.
  • Worked extensively on CDG2, OMH, CCF-L and GCF Signaling Conformance testing on various customer products as per 3GPP2 & 3GPP specifications.
  • Pioneered the implementation of hybrid conformance standard C.S0094 in Q-Lab. Process included, understanding the standard, deciding on test equipment and thorough validation of the standard. This effort resulted in Indian carriers accepting this standard as part of the handset certification process.
  • Key member involved in the ISO-17025, CCF and CTIA certification of Q-Lab
  • Key member involved in validating interoperability standard-CS0044 and CS0044-A and Validation of C.S.0073B MEID Signaling for R-UIM cards.

Confidentail,Bangalore, India Sep 2005 –Oct 2006
Product Test Engineer, Associate

As a part of Product test team, Responsible for CDMA wireless mobile phones software test. Tested manual and automated test cases on targets including full, regression and spot suites on CDMA call processing on IS-95A, IS-95B, and IS-2000.

  • Testing is done for various CDMA standards such as IS-95A, IS-95B, CDMA2000 and CDG 2.
  • Different call processing features such as registration, hand-off, Air Interface Tests, POTS, Power Control, Service Redirection, and Subscriber Calling Feature. These test cases are tested on various Base Station simulators like RACAL and Spirent
  • Wrote, executed, documented, modified and incorporated CDMA product change request into IS-95A, IS-95B, and IS-2000 test cases and test outlines per CDMA standards

Confidentail,Bangalore, India July 2003 – Aug 2005
Jr. Engineer

Responsible for Data Collection (Drive Test) and Processing for CDMA networks using Qualcomm proprietary tool CAIT (CDMA Air interface tester).

  • Drive test has carried out using CDMA Air Interface Tester (CAIT) tool. Performed RF drive test to carry out propagation and signal measurement. This is basically the data collection in order to modify network design and enhance performance of a CDMA network. Measure field data for the base station to identify Pilot signal strength, Handoff parameters, Mobile receive and transmit powers, Forward/reverse link FER plots and Call processing information. These collected system parameters are used to optimize the network. The main objective of drive test is to minimize call drops
  • Project deals with Commissioning of Base Station System (BSS) which includes installation of Base Transceiver Station (BTS), Transcoder (XC) & Mobility Manager (MM) of MOTOROLA Systems of CDMA Network. It consists of automated ATP scripts executed by the LMF and used to verify all major transmit and receive performance characteristics on all BSS equipment. These ATP scripts are performed by Spectral Purity TX Mask, Waveform Quality (rho), Pilot Time Offset, Code Domain Power, and Frame Error Rate. These generate the reports, which are used by OMC-R for Optimization of Base Station System.
