    Chief Information Officer
    In this role I am responsible responsible for all technical and informational needs for the entire organization. This includes 24x7 system uptime, IT project completion and accountability, IT budgeting, vendor relations and all systems supporting the organization. An equal mix of managing, leading, resource allocation and hands on development is necessary in this role.

  • Managed and lead the Information Technology department of this third party logistics (3PL) provider, which is specifically made up of two business units (infrastructure and software development) and maintains an annual budget of $1.5MM. Focused on rapidly delivering value and ROI for all business areas including transportation, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment and supply chain management.
  • Rebuilt the IT department by segregating the department into two distinct business units. This was quickly followed by filling each business unit with new hires that possessed the proper professional and technical skill set mix.
  • Ensured project completion and delivery for an offsite backup strategy that involved moving all internal data and virtual machines into an Amazon S3 cloud storage configuration.
  • Successfully championed, planned and lead a SQLServer 2000 to SQLServer 2008 upgrade for the enterprise wide system. This involved multiple areas of expertise including object deprecation, regression testing, network modification, application development and a tangible return on investment analysis.
  • Established a \'preferred vendor\' program for all IT related purchases, which gave the organization on, average an 8% savings across the board. This also allowed the organization to target shorter term vendor agreements (1 year or less) for many services.
  • Negotiated a cellular service agreement with a single vendor that reduced the overall expense by 44% based on a one-year term. This included hardware and rate reduction.

  • Oversaw and ensured the completion of virtualizing all mission critical IT infrastructure devices by using VMware running on a high-end SAN setup.   • Designed and created a new service and application layer that used BlazeDS, Spring and IBatis for the Java server side within Tomcat. Its purpose was to deliver swf applications to end browsers along with the necessary data sets. The applications were created in Flex and would serialize/deserialize AS3 objects into Java POJO’s via BlazeDS using AMF over HTTP.

    Web Architect Lead

  • Lead the technical design to migrate an existing traditional jsp/servlet web application into a rich UI web framework, Flex 2. This project included migrating the server side, messaging and UI component tiers into a loosely coupled system of well accepted technologies as a prototype. A RESTful implementation of necessary WebServices was used as the messaging middle tier. The messages within this middle tier contained serialized Java & ActionScript objects in a XML format.
