PeopleSoft Analyst/Developer

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for support of ePerformance and Portal.
  • Developed custom reporting tool for ePerformance utilizing PS Query API and a UI based on Ajax via custom JavaScript, HTML, CSS and iScripts. All code contained within custom App Package.
  • Provide technical support for each ePerformance rollout which typically contains new templates, and custom tweaks to the ‘worflow’ of employee and manager interactions/approvals.
  • Responsible for migration of all objects configured by functional team, from templates, text catalog items, competency configurations and other custom configurations. Assist production team with final migration which occurs after hours.
  • Consolidated custom document print process from over 50 SQR’s into 1 SQR. Reduced testing time and disparate qualities that came from so many different programs.
  • Developed custom procedures to handle text justification in same document print process allowing for more text per line and resulting in smaller output.
  • Provide a multitude of custom reports for ePerformance using either straight SQL or ad hoc SQRs that I can run locally. Developed own SQR infrastructure on my desktop to easily run an SQR against any DB.
  • Recognized as a key troubleshooter for any issue that occurs within the HR application. Excellent at recreating errors in test environments and review traces to pinpoint source of issue.
  • Developed own SQR to reformat PeopleSoft traces to provide a more readable format and easily see the progression of which PeopleCode was called (by identifying the source even after multiple func calls).
  • Developed custom applications/bolt-ons to HR to handle a complete workflow process initiated by a manager. Process flows went between HR and 1 of 2 Portals, and relied on Integration Broker for all communications between different DB’s.
  • For the first time, developed custom code for use on Portal home page to deliver employee specific notifications and tasks as well as a method for them to link to those tasks right from the notification.
  • Have developed custom upload processes for use with ePerformance document creation and updates, and then leveraged those same customizations for other apps within HR. Processing includes a complete tracking of uploads by user and full support mechanism to maintain and delete uploaded documents.
  • Was primary resource in support of new Onboarding Portal used by new hires as their first point of contact with the firm. Support revolved around integration which utilized Integration Broker for a 2-way process.

  • Provided general PS support for core HRIS under guidance of Unisys and in conjunction with the NFC (National Finance Center) located in New Orleans.
  • Quickly won the support of Unisys staff which initially viewed subcontractors as a detriment to the project.
  • Participated in the rollout of ePerformance working with one of Unisys’s lead developers and functional experts.

  • Returned to Marriott to participate in new implementation of PS HCM 8.8 under the direction of Accenture. Return was based on my prior experience in working with Marriott’s custom payroll and other HR systems.
  • Primary implementation effort was design and implementation of a new interface between PS HR and mainframe based payroll system. Which was THE key integration point of PS HR and vital to its success.
  • 2 way interfaced written in SQR constructed outbound transactions based on updates in PS HR as identified by audit tables into multi-record formats utilized by the mainframe system.
  • Daily inbound SQR process did a compare of every active and recent terminated employee in a flat file received from mainframe against the HR database and a variety of tables.
  • Also created conversion programs to do initial population of HR DB for employee and supporting tables such as job codes and departments.
  • Developed other custom SQRs and bolt on min applications such as an online tool for performing mass updates to job data.
  • Mass update tool provided functionality to create employee lists based on a variety of grouping methods and then preview all updates before applying them.
  • Catered to the ad hoc information request for reporting by building a collection of run only PS Queries for a variety of corporate and location users.
  • Worked with contractor to develop first self-service application (eProfle).
  • Ultimate supported Accenture in their role as an out-source provider in technical support of HR, providing details on finer aspects of interfaces and Marriott payroll processing.
