IT Project Manager 2005 – 2009
Corporate IT Project Manager for EUC (End User Computing). Represented EUC on Corporate wide initiatives including the Vista transition project, ITIL Change Management process development team, and cost savings projects for global implementation. Acted as the Motorola Sponsor for 1500 outsourced IT representatives. Responsible for IT Projects in a global environment. Projects included:
- Full life cycle project to replace Motorola’s standard PC backup service. Identified and qualified vendors with services providing PC backup. Created the RFP, held vendor conferences, and evaluated the responses from 8 vendors. Selected the vendor, created and managed the pilot testing to evaluate the new service. Phase II of the project was to manage the consolidation of 26 servers to 1 mirrored instance and migrate the existing users to the new service. Closed out the project and became the service owner for PC Backups.
- Conference Room Booking Software Vendor Issue. Managed the project to correct issues with a service purchased from a vendor that was not working properly. The project objectives were to have the vendor correct the issues with the application, stop billing Motorola during this process, and to provide support free of charge until the application was corrected and approved in re-testing. All the objectives were achieved in the project.
- PC Remediation Project. Full life cycle project to improve the performance of the PC’s in use by the EMB business unit at the New York facility. 4000 users were included in this project with PC’s from 1 to 5 years old. On a very restricted budget for PC purchases the project team was able to remediate slow response times on the existing PC’s while replacing less than 100 PC’s. I was responsible for creating the processes, interviewing and hiring the IT contractors for the implementation, maintaining the budget, and performance tracking to the CIO of the business unit. Once the project was completed and closed the template for the project was used in other business units and regions. The project was a success on all counts.
