RMS 12 (Retek Ultra-lite)
Retek Ultra-lite is phase one of RMS12 implementation. In this initial phase, RMS12 was implemented for Item Management, Stores and Warehouse management, Pricing (RPM).
Responsibilities/Achievements – Lead

• Designed, developed and deployed ETL interfaces to keep data in sync between RMS12 and Retek 6 systems and other external systems.
• Identified forms, reports, scripts (Pro*C, PERL and Shell) and batch jobs in Retek 6 that have become obsolete and disabled them after archiving.
• ETL interfaces for near real-time data needs were developed using WebSphere MQ messages and Oracle RIB and the batch ETL interfaces were developed in IBM Datastage
• Was responsible for keeping the interfaces scope in control and there by implement the project on time.
• Responsible for resolving functional and technical issues by opening service requests (Oracle Metalink) with Oracle support and applying patches to resolve these issues.

Retek 6 Upgrade
Retek 6 system upgrade to Oracle 10G database and Web interface was a requirement for the implementation of RMS12. Michaels adopted a phase wise approach in implementing RMS12 and this approach plan required that both versions of the Retek (RMS) co-exist until the final phase of RMS12 is implemented.
Responsibilities/Achievements – Lead

• Configured Application server for Web forms and Reports.
• Wrote windows batch scripts and UNIX shell scripts to migrate and compile oracle forms and reports from GUI version 4.0 to web version 6i.
• Designed and developed a PL/SQL utility for reading and writing data files from web forms.
• Developed an ingenious solution to be able to get dual (PDF and Excel) output formats from Oracle web reports.
