Summary of Major Projects
Managed File Transfer – Net New Active-Active Server Infrastructure Build Out, Application Development and Upgrade
Project Leader - This $3.1 million project spanned all Fidelity Business Units to replace the Cyclone file transfer product as well as the numerous homegrown FTP implementations with the Synchrony application from Axway Inc. Led this project, which included other PMs and SMEs across the various Fidelity business units. As project lead, managed the technical infrastructure build out as well as the daily customer relations and customer requirements for custom application development. The full life cycle scope spanned from business case development through decommissioning of replaced infrastructure.
Confidential Centers - MPLS Tier 3 Network Upgrade from Sprint Frame Relay.
Project Leader – This $5.1 million project was to replace the single point of failure Sprint networks with a dual vendor solution (Verizon and AT&T) across more than 150 Fidelity Investment Centers. Extensive customer interfaces and management of customer relationships were daily responsibilities for this 18 month project. Ultimately, the dual T1 solution at every Investment Center, as well as full redundancy across two data centers, resulted in Six Sigma network availability ratings.
RFP for Outsourcing of Infrastructure Hardware Maintenance across Servers and Networks
Project Leader and RFP Owner – I was the single point of contact for developing the RFP, soliciting responses, responding to vendor questions and analyzing the responses. This was accomplished by working closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Vendor Management and other SMEs to develop an exhaustive risk register and detailed RFP. The ultimate buy-in on a 3rd party single source gave Fidelity Supply Management the leverage to save over $8 million in annual maintenance fees.
Global Network Scanning for Inbound and Outbound Leaks, Rouge Devices and other Security Risks
Project Leader – Coordinated global network engineering resources in order to deploy over 50 IPSonar Scanners from Lumeta, Inc. across the US, Canada, India, U.K., Europe and the Pacific Rim. Led the development of processes, procedures, training programs and documentation, which ultimately led to an ongoing repeatable process of quarterly network scans.
IT Infrastructure Server and Application Migration from AIX and Solaris to X86 Server Farm with RHEL 5.0 Linux (RFP)
Project Leader – This project targeted the conversion of all applications residing on over 3,000 AIX and Solaris RISC servers to a virtualized Linux environment. Extensive TCO and ROI analysis was done in conjunction with the IBM and HP migration factories. Virtualization solutions from Sun and Novell were also analyzed.
Global Network Assessment and Remediation (Audit to Best Practices)
Project Leader – Worked with Cisco to develop a comprehensive network security best practice. All Fidelity global IT groups were then assessed to these standards after which they implemented remediation plans, which were then validated. The process then became an ongoing repeatable process.
IT Infrastructure ISO 20000 Certification
Co-Project Manager under the Program Manager – Responsibilities included the development of level one, two and three policies, processes, procedures and workflows for seven of the thirteen ISO 20000 practices. Certification was achieved upon completion of this 18-month project.
HP PPM Application Development and Software Upgrade. Net New Active-Passive Server Infrastructure Build Out
Project Leader – This was company-wide Program and Portfolio Management software application upgrade from Version 5.5 to 6.0 and redundant fail over server build out. The role included both the technical implementation and customer relations management.
