  • EXPERIENCE
    Project Engineer/Manager, Confidential,Reno, Sep 2010-March 2011.
Worked as a Project Manager/Engineer in the early development stages of a Geothermal Power Project in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Responsibilities include managing, coordinating the work to various consultants for drilling, reports required by various departments and documentation.

    CAD/ CAM Designer, Confidential,Reno, Dec 2010-May 2011(Contract).
Worked as a CAD/CAM designer at nSequence (Centre for Advanced Dentistry) on Prototyping and 3D modeling of implants and surgical guides using Solid Works, Conversion and Segmentation of the Patient Scans (CT Scans) using Simplant and MIMICS.
*Tools I worked with: Solid Works, Simplant, MIMICS.
    Research Assistant, Confidential,Reno, Jan 2007 – Jun 2009.
Worked on design of a Compressible Magneto-Rheological Damper for a tracked vehicle.

    Description:

  • A prototype of a Compressible Magneto-Rheological (CMR) Damper was designed using Solid Works
  • and ANSOFT. It was then built, and examined on an INSTRON servo machine. This CMR damper functions as a liquid spring and a controllable fluid damper in a single unit.

  • The compressible MR fluid used in the proposed device is composed of 80wt.% of iron particles suspended in silicon oil. The composition of the fluid is decided by analyzing the material characteristics for different compositions using Rheometer.
  • The CMR damper has an irregular annular MR electromagnetic valve with a flow path of varying cross section, it was designed to attain different compression and rebound forces. This valve works in flow mode.
  • The flow through the irregular cross section was simulated and analyzed using FLUENT.
  • Worked as a Teaching assistant providing advice and support to undergraduate students learning Mechanical vibrations and Lab view.
  • *Tools I worked with: Solidworks, ANSOFT, Gambit, FLUENT, Lab View, Windows XP, MS office.

    Plant Engineer, Confidential,INDIA, Aug 2004-Oct 2006.
Worked as a Plant Engineer at a manufacturing facility and was involved in the Operation, trouble shooting, diagnostics of the machines in the plant, supervision of the day to day production activity and keeping track of Energy consumption to achieve Energy efficiency.
Worked with clients in estimating, installing, fabricating and running of Liquefaction units for CO2 produced from molasses.
*Tools I worked with: Pro E, Windows XP, MS office.

    Internship, Confidential,Hyderabad, Feb 2006-May 2006.
Designed, developed and programmed the machining of a T-Groove over the rotor blade of a gas turbine using CAD operated - Sinumetric Machine.

    • Description: This Project work involved the development of a 3-Axis CNC program for Machining Blade Grooves(T-grooves) which are inverted in shape on the Rotor of the Turbine. The flexibility of machining surface was studied for different types of machining processes with respect to dimensional accuracy and surface finish. In the earlier method of machining T-Grooves it was mandatory to write ten programs to machine a single groove, using Incremental programming methods. But in our new method, Operations sub method is used to write only one program to machine with accurate, closer tolerances, and good surface finish.
    • Participated in Industrial training program at CITD ( Central Institute for Tool Design), Hyderabad for tool designing, cutting, drilling, turning, milling, grinding and other processes.
