I was hired on to help convert their generic EDI maps from Websphere Datainterchange (WDI) to Sterling Integrator (B2Bi). I was also asked to create mapping requirement specifications (MRS) for all of the transactions I did for them. I also helped them understand the “Correlation Data” feature of B2Bi and created a mapping specification document to outline all of the correlation tags they wanted to use in each map. This document was to be used by the other developers.
My portion of this project include the mapping and testing of roughly twenty maps.

I was hired for a short-term contract to map and test several transactions for one of their trading partners. These mapping were either CSV to X12 or X12 to CSV. All maps were done using Sterling Integrator (B2Bi). I was also asked to create mapping requirement specifications (MRS) for all of the transactions I did for them.

Migrated the EDI maps that were used by the Alcon Canada and Alcon UK divisions, to use Sterling Integrator version 5.2, from a JDE Edwards ERP system to SAP IDOCS both inbound and outbound. This migration included roughly 100 maps and included X12 and Tradacoms. I worked with the SAP team to determine some of the mapping needs that the SAP system will need to accommodate for the maps. Wrote several mapping specs to help show what the maps were doing. This project started early 2012 and was installed in April of 2013 for these two countries. Alcon usually turns to me when they need something documented or if they need spreadsheets that have a lot of summarization.
After the migration of Canada and the UK the project shifted to the USA implementation to SAP which is a major effort. The USA project started in April of 2013 and was implemented in April of 2016. I played a major role in the development and testing of the maps that created inbound IDOC’s to be sent to SAP and the maps that used the outbound SAP IDOCS for the outbound data. In some cases I wrote the “template” map that others used for the partners they were responsible for and I answered their questions if they had mapping issues. The migration included over 400 partner transactions each with an individual map. When implementation time came they relied on me to gather all of the objects and make sure the implementation went as smooth as possible. I also wrote many of the MRS documents (Mapping Requirements) that identified the segment\element in the EDI data and which SAP IDOC record\field it is tied to.

I was responsible for migrating most of their maps from Gentran Server to Sterling Integrator (SI version 5.2.4). This migration includes over 200 maps and covers both their Domestic and International partners.
I helped in the migration of communications like FTP, SFTP and AS2 off of Axway’s Cyclone product and on to SI.
I migrated partners to use the mailbox feature within SI to send and receive data.
Migrated maps used by Alcon’s Canada and domestic divisions from their Gentran Director PRO (DPRO) and Gentran Server (GS) products to Sterling Integrator (SI). Tested converted maps using the mapping tool testing feature and compared output from DPRO and GS to be sure they match. Installed maps in SI and tested them a second time using Oxford’s Framework product that is installed into Alcon’s version of SI. The “Business Processes” to process the data were not built by Alcon but were part of the Oxford Framework product.
This mapping and testing include the following X12 documents: 810, 812, 816, 820, 824, 830, 850, 855 and 856 transactions. I also mapped and tested the EDIFACT transactions ORDERS, DESADV and INVOIC as well as mapped inbound and outbound XML transactions.
I built several maps in SI that use an imbedded CSS style sheet concept to create transaction reports for the inbound 812, 816, 820, 824, 830 and 850 transactions.
I documented several of the testing processes for transactions using SI using Microsoft VISIO.

Six weeks contract with IBM to work with Kraft Foods. My primary responsibility is to help with the migration of WDI 3.3 objects from their QA environment (lowest level) to their DEV environment (middle level) and finally to their PROD environment (top level). I created a migration deployment document for these objects as a checklist. Kraft has split their migration into six worldwide regions and will be migrating them separately over the next several months.
My secondary responsibility was to work with the WDI 3.3 development team to check out the differences from what their WDI 3.2 system put out to what the WDI 3.3 system put out. When differences were identified I worked with the maps to see if a “work-around” could be found. If not, I provided all the necessary information that would be sent to IBM for a PMR.
