Major teaching hospital in Burlington. Vermont, part of five hospital system across Vermont and New York state. Systems analyst, administrator and architect in charge of UNIX servers. Environment included AIX on Confidential POWER 6, 7 and 8 platforms and Linux RH and SLES, mostly on VMWare servers. Responsible for UNIX (AIX, RH Linux, Solaris) environment with Cisco SAN and Confidential and EMC storage in multiple data centres, cross - connected with fiber and highly available. This environment provided a platform for majority of some 400 hospital applications, including Epic for both medical and business purposes, McKesson, Cloverleaf, Oracle and others.
Stabilized previously troubled environment, created and maintained documentation, scripts and procedures for day-to-day operation of the systems as well as emergency situations. Trained advised and coordinated network teams in network and SAN configurations necessary to provide stable and reliable highly available service. Architected and coordinated major transfer of data for Epic from Confidential to EMC storage.
