SUMMARY:
- I am an Advanced Analytics SME, helping customers with complex data management, integration and analysis challenges.
- I have been using statistics, machine learning and train neural networks to produce business insights, sometimes surprising and non - trivial.
- I often present findings using dashboard visuals and reports created with Power BI (PBI), the ultimate leader in Gartner’s 2018 magic quadrant for Analytics and BI tools.
- Among the tools I have been using are SQL, SSMS, SSIS, MySQL, Cosmos DB, Graph DB, C#, “R”, Python, Scala, Hive, U-SQL, Spark (Hadoop gen 2), Databricks (Hadoop Gen 3), Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS), Azure Data Lake Analysis (ADLA), Azure Cognitive Services, IaaS and PaaS cloud services.
- This position requires to collaborate with customers and account teams in planning and driving strategic sales programs and initiatives presented to our customers.
- In this cross-functional role, I work with senior BDMs, sales, PMO, legal, cybersecurity, compliance, business partners and others.
- I develop strategies, roadmaps and implementation plans around data and analytics to help customers’ managers and executives make informed business decisions in order to sustain or improve their organization's competitiveness.
- Company’s own reseller engagement improvement became a strategic goal, as well as helping resellers modernize and transform their digital channels strategy. For that purpose, I built a prototype of a Seller’s Daily Recommended Activity: a dashboard with list of activities (phone calls, emails, F2F meeting) and recommended communications content. The list is generated nightly fusing sales data with heterogeneous external data sources, machine learning segmentation using Scala and Databricks, sentiment analysis of emails and phone transcripts using R, and named entity recognition augmenting a pre-existing model. The PBI dashboard was integrated into the client’s home-grown business application. To assess its efficacy, I have suggested several hypotheses, identifying the independent and the dependent variables, and the treatment variable; designed rigorous experiments going beyond the “A/B testing” approach to test those assertions and identify the best dashboard among several options.
- The problem had to do with the characteristics of the billion or so rows of data that did not lend itself to any common clustering algorithm. Using creativity and prior experience, I wrote three R programs, each one using its own segmentation technique. I presented the results using visuals plotted with R. A mere 10% sample of the data provided some surprising actionable insights, justifying further development efforts.
- They have a vast amount of operational processing data which needed to harnessed in more innovative ways to improve their customers’ experience. I was part of a consulting team comprised of two people whose mission was to “bring the data to life” and jump-start Company 3 efforts to identify inefficiencies, sub-optimal processes, and other opportunities. Using SQL and “R” to extract, merge, filter and cleanse data, we created numerous Power BI dashboards to present our findings. Those included segmentation of customers in various ways, spatial analysis results, heat maps, time based analysis results, maps with information and more “traditional” plots, along with several reports.
- Remove barriers by working with others around a shared need or customer benefit.
- Rapidly prototype models and solutions to estimate their performance and feasibility.
- Own overall solution architecture on data analysis projects including direction, principles, various levels of abstraction, and current state.
- Help push the envelope of features and technologies that increase the capabilities of these customers while steadfastly protecting user privacy and mitigating bias in ML and AI models.
- Mentor, lead, and grow client teams of data scientists, analysts and others.
- Work with little supervision, providing results with limited direction.
