Work Environment:

Shell Megacentre project consists of SAP Basis and AIX support. AIX team supports 400+ logical partitions residing on 35+ p570 & p595 machines and also 50+ standalone boxes. It also includes 40+ HACMP cluster systems (2 node) both stand-alone and on lpar.

Major activities include – Logical partition build & upgrades, LPAR move between p570’s p595’s , HACMP tests, , firmware upgrade, OS/patch upgrades, HACMP Upgrades, DLPAR capacity changes, performance monitoring, HBA microcode upgrade, SAN port change etc, runbook for some of above activities are prepared by us.

As a part of weekly lpar/p570 Performance monitoring, we prepare a report showing Performance, capacity utilisation of all systems. This report is helpful for future capacity planning and good system performance. Weekly HACMP Reports for analyzing the stability of the clusters.

Activities :

• Migration of 9 Production landscapes from p570 to p595 hardware completed successfully. Includes 3 major production landscapes with HACMP configured.
• 40+ LPAR builds on newly installed p570 & p595.
• OS level/ Firmware upgrades, DLPAR capacity changes, HACMP tests and upgrades , storage migration, HBA microcode upgrade, oracle patch installation etc.
• Handling other day-to-day AIX/HACMP issues. Creating volume groups, logical volumes, filesystems, nfs mounting in cluster and standalone systems.
