  • Effective manager and leader of numerous high profile and high budget infrastructure projects. Routinely led and managed Abercrombie and Fitch infrastructure upgrade (hardware refresh/decommission) projects with budgets varying from $1 - $5 million. Developed detailed implementation/migration plans related to hardware deployments that posed a significant risk to Abercrombie’s business operations. On over 2 dozen occasions, skillfully led high impact change teams during these deployments - with durations varying from 2 to 36 hours.
  • Helped to modernize Abercrombie’s Oracle Database environments. Led the upgrade and migration of mission critical Oracle 11g databases from IBM Power 7700 server platforms, to Oracle 12c on Exadata. This involved several high profile application upgrades including the Symmetric Application Upgrade project. This spin-off project included the upgrade of numerous middleware server applications (Tomcat, JRE, Symmetric DS, among others) responsible for synchronizing data between back end servers and thousands of cash registers in over 800 stores worldwide. The Symmetric Application Upgrade project completed on time, on schedule, and the highly successful month-long rollout concluded with very few issues.
  • Instrumental in renovating Abercrombie’s SQL Server environment. Led the upgrade and re-organization of hundreds of loosely scattered SQL Server databases from SQL Server 2005/2008 to SQL Server 2012 then to SQL Server 2014 in an organized clustered environment. Coordinated with SQL Server DBAs and owners of over 60 applications to migrate their software and databases through this massive and complex upgrade effort. Frequently this involved application upgrades that varied from simple to the very complex. Notable application upgrades include Microsoft EPM 2010 - EPM 2016, and IBM B2B Integrator: first from SQL 2008 to SQL 2012, then replatform to Oracle 12c on Exadata.
  • Successfully accomplished what no other Project Manager could at Abercrombie: Led the decommissioning of 133 remaining Windows 2003 Servers (both physical and virtual), and the migration of the remaining 36 application to Windows 2008/2012 Server platforms. Again, this effort precipitated numerous spin-off application upgrade projects - many of which were either out of support, and/or lacked any application expertise among the IT staff. Applied keen leadership, problem solving, and team building talent to migrate and upgrade these applications.
  • Turned around the troubled Branch Number changes project; delivered successfully on time and within budget. This 8,000 hour project allowed Huntington to continue to open new branches, as their legacy applications were approaching a state that would not allow them to open new retail facilities. Turnaround activities included actively engaging over 2 dozen application teams involved in development and regression testing, re-baselining the project schedule, overseeing development, developing a complex yet thorough implementation plan, execution of system and UAT testing and implementation.

Led the Huntington DBA team through a smooth project involving the cleanup of years old DB2 plans, files, and regions.
