Claims Reinsurance (SCI) application
Responsible for leading a team of over 30 developers charged with developing the CONFIDENTIAL Claims Reinsurance (SCI) application. To maximize component-based build strategy, the total system was divided across multiple layers. Netegrity’s SiteMinder was used for centrally managing authentication and security for the application. The SCI application implemented role-based security using iPlanet’s LDAP Server as a central repository for storing and managing identity profiles, access privileges, application and network resource information. The SCI application also implemented programmatic security as well to control data access to Users. The Presentation layer was divided into static components such as HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and dynamic components such as Java Server Pages (JSP), Java Servlets, XML Server Side and Client side rendering. To achieve scalable, distributed, and reliable solution, J2EE standard components e.g., Servlets, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB), JMS and JAXP were used. Enterprise Application Integration and Distributed Messaging was achieved using EJBs and Messaging. Stateless session beans are developed where required.
The application was deployed using IBM WebSphere Application Server (running on an HP-UX box) accessing a DB2 relational database on the mainframe. Stored Procedures executing via DB2 Connect were used to manipulate and retrieve data from the mainframe. Rational Rose was used to design and document Use Case diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, collaboration diagrams, activity diagrams, component diagrams and deployment diagrams. The ERWin data modeling tool was used to design the logical and physical database. IBM’s WebSphere Application Developer was used as the integrated development environment (IDE).

Multinational Loss Data Repository
The Multinational Loss Data Repository is a comprehensive data store of claim data for Multinational Clients for data registered using domestic and global registrations systems such as the Claims Data Warehouse and Premium Data Warehouse. The system also allows for claims activity to be registered by Third Party Administrators, Non-affiliates and Out of Territory representatives. Code sets used are approved through the ACE Data Governance process. Multi-Currency processing is an important feature. Processed Claims are then fed to the Multinational Claims Management portal which Global Risk Advantage (CRIS/GRA). The repository will utilize the latest state-of-the-art technology structures and tools in order to maximize its maintainability, flexibility and availability.
The application was deployed using Internet Information Server, ASP, MVP design pattern, .NET framework accessing a MS SQL Server relational Database. SQL Server Stored Procedures executing ADO.NET were used to manipulate and retrieve data. MS VISIO was used to design and document Use Case diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams. The ERWin data modeling tool was used to design the logical and physical database. Visual Studio was used as the integrated development environment (IDE).
Multinational Clinical Trials Insurance Certificates
The solution developed using ASP.NET and MS Office Word helps the customer generator Clinical Trial Insurance Certificates for their Multinational Client. Extensive search, data upload and printing capabilities over the internet from remote global locations makes this application very user friendly. Responsible for leading offshore development team and technical design.
Multinational Accounts Receivables
The solution developed using ASP.NET and MS SQL Server provides the customer with a complete suite of accounts receivable functions. The application provides detail and summary accounts receivable information due from Multinational Customers. Multi-Currency is widely used and important feature of this product. Responsible for leading offshore development team and technical design.
The Legacy Systems Replacement Phase 1
ACE current US systems environment includes various registration systems by line of business, dependent on inefficient, file-based legacy edit systems to supplement and validate the data. Various sets of midstream edit and transform programs with independent rules and code lists have led to data inconsistencies throughout the system flow. These legacy systems limit frequency to weekly/monthly file-based batch processing and contribute to overall processing inefficiencies.
The Legacy Systems Replacement Phase 1 initiative proposes to upgrade the current ACE USA/Westchester insurance application platform by eliminating the dependency on the legacy applications and associated batch processes.
Total Cost of Claim
The Total Cost of Claim a Business Intelligence initiative automates the claim cost calculation, using the most accurate, timely and detailed data available. Provide Senior Claims Management, Team Leaders, Divisional Financial Officers and analysts with the ability to:
- Analyze trends that impact staffing and geographic locations
- Track performance at the unit and individual level
- Improve planning and budgetary decisions
Global Risk Advantage - Reengineering
The Global Risk Advantage tool provides flexible, formatted and custom reports with drill-down capability. Real-time access to claim notes, claim diaries and functions such as email, proactive monitoring of critical claims and claim payments are a few of the rich features of the application.
The application developed using Visual Basic is being reengineered in .Net architecture using SQL 2005 database. The requirements phase currently in progress includes extracting business rules and existing functionality from application code and adding additional new requirements.

Software Development Manager
Developing a multi-line claims application for FITS. To maximize component-based build strategy, the total system has been divided into applications spanning across multiple layers. A function driven layer interacts with other layers using industry-standard protocol such Java Messaging Service (JMS), and XML compatibility to interact with other systems.
Presentation layer is divided into HTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Java Server Pages (JSP) and Java Servlets. The Presentation layer delegates business requests to process layer. To evaluate and execute the client requests a ‘Process Layer’ provides business methods. The Process Layer also acts as the repository of business rules. The Process Layer interacts with a ‘Service Layer’ for data retrieval and manipulation. To achieve scalable, distributed, and reliable solution, J2EE standard components e.g., JSP/Servlets, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB), JMS and JAXP are used. The application is being deployed using IBM WebSphere application server accessing an Oracle database.
