At Confidential 2007 – 2009 (Tek Systems):

Project Manager/Analyst sessions. Setup and sponsored JAD to present an SOA solution to replace antiquated Rating System (Home Grown).Created agenda and step by step process to accomplish this goal to bring mobility and flexibility to incorporate multiple systems to use the same Rating Engine. Websphere/Portal quick quote to verify credit rating, age and pertinent pre qualifying customers requirements.

Business Analyst - UML Use Case for PMS for Confidential. Defined players and systems to develop changes to access a new Rating Software (CGI). Met and worked with all stakeholders, users and developers to clearly state business requirements at both high level and detailed level.

Process improvement. Wrote business requirements to create called/linked module, driving consistent performance for multi accessible module and standardizing the method of access. This kept coding and testing to a minimum so that developers and analyst could focus on core functions of the project.

Waterfall/Agile/Rupp Methodologies. With a background in Project Management facilitated and participated in the life cycle of SOA project using best methodologies to complete project. In the case of SOA project used an Agile approach to break up the plan into smaller more manageable projects to accomplish this integration.

Created project plan(s) and documented complete system(s). Utilized; Waterfall methodology for SDLC to install enhancements and integration. At Confidential 1991 - 2003

Project Manager – Replaced Care Management System (In-house) with Client Vendor Software. Led team (20 people) to replace antiquated mainframe Care Management system with vendor client server system. This software supported 500 plus users both fixed and mobile. Complete project control from Scope, Implementation to Post meetings. Portal / Websphere interface to verify benefits validation. Verified all users were current, functional and documented of all problems both resolved and unresolved.

Project Manager – Care Management System (In-house). Led team to write and integrate new system to track Care Management health care HMO, PPO and Indemnity products. As a Project Manager in addition to writing project plan, I was involved in all aspects of full system life cycle. Duties included; Write scope / business / technical documents to name a few. This system was successfully installed with over 50 on-line and 100 batch reporting programs. Once system installed maintained support and new enhancements to system.

Cost Savings / Process Improvement

Cut programming/testing expenses 75% at Confidential while meeting state verification requirements. State required verification whether customers were using comprehensive car insurance on more than three vehicles. Analyzed best system to verify information, analysis uncovered prior system was in place. Decided on most effective system and implemented change.

Used Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to add vendor software for projected savings of 20 to 30%. Company needed to incorporate vendor software. Convinced management to use SOA. Architecture would eliminate hard coding of programs and add current and future vendors’ software without changing the core system.

Saved one-quarter of a million dollars annually with vendor partnership. Highmark wanted to replace its current mainframe Care Management system with a vendor\'s software. Led team to analyze diverse vendors utilizing a grading system focused on functionality, mobility and architecture. After exploring over 100 vendors, chose cost-effective partner, cutting cost of current system 35%.

Developed collaborative approach between tech and business, resulting in 20% decline in system defects. Program bugs were causing problems for Care Management customers at Highmark. Included business analyst in coding walk-through meeting, identifying potential problems and improving quality.

Improved helpdesk performance and timeliness. Helpdesk was unresponsive and unprepared to resolve end user and batch issues. Created a documentation template. Developed category of new and similar issues. Placed document on share server so all parties could access information. Decreased end-user issues by 90%.

Worked on all aspects of system life cycle. Workflow specialist, providing cost estimates and meeting staffing requirements for new system development or enhancement. As a team member participated in Request for Proposal and Statement of Work for vendor requirements providing estimates and time-line for CGI rating engine software integration.
