Responsibilities:

• Worked on the network security design and implementation for the Financial Management Services (FMS) division of the Treasury Department; the design included VPN and extranet access, and several layers and zones of security levels separated by PIX and Symantec firewalls.

Senior Networking Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Worked on the design, implementation, and maintenance of a country-wide high security network for the Confidential .
• Developed network’s strict inter-departmental security requirement and supervised junior engineers in the implementation using Cisco PIX’s, VPN’s and IDS’s.

Responsibilities:

• Prepared a study detailing the current status of VoIP technology in the marketplace, its applicability to the agency’s enterprise, and the potential impacts associated with its implementation. Researched the current product offerings of the leading VoIP vendors and outlining the advantages and disadvantages associated with each vendor offering.
• Conducted a review of the existing infrastructure, determining its readiness for supporting the implementation of VoIP technologies, and recommending infrastructure improvement initiatives that would be required to support the deployment of VoIP and its integration with the VPN deployment.
• Wrote a white paper on Quality of Service (QoS) concepts and implementation.
• Served as a Network Design Engineer for the IRS’ call center modernization project. Responsible for designing and implementing network infrastructures for over 30 call centers nationwide. Participated in the implementation of the proposed design by configuring and installing network equipment and troubleshooting network issues during deployments including ATM, Frame Relay, and T1/T3 circuit connectivity issues, and EIGRP and BGP configuration issues.
