PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

IT Manager / Project Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Key customer mandated process change requiring remote creation of inventory data and label printing using their system. Realizing a tremendous time and cost saving opportunity existed if the systems could be integrated, at my recommendation, the customer upgraded their systems providing secure access to a custom web service permitting real-time synchronized inventory record creation, the creation of a hybrid label format scannable in both systems, a 50 % reduction in total labor and label cost, and zero impact on current procedures.
  • Customer Service Manager requested the development of a custom Bill of Material (BOM) detail report modeled after one used extensively at a previous company. This custom report, used by customer service representatives to assess new sales order requirements was deployed within the custom Crystal Report module in MAS 200 and included over 20 sub-reports, hierarchical sorting, and conditional formatting becoming the foundation on which every sales order requirement would be evaluated for the next 15+ years.
  • Customer service representatives were inundated with customer requests for email notifications as parts were shipped. I designed and managed the development and deployment of an automated Electronic Shipment Notification process that provided real-time generation of email shipment notifications eliminating the manual verification and data gathering steps previously required for every qualified shipment.

IT Manager / Project Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Several high-volume customers required the daily compilation and submission of an email notification containing all related shipment data for that day. I designed and managed the development and deployment of an automated Consolidated Shipment Notification process triggered nightly by a custom database event containing an Excel file attachment with shipment detail eliminating the manual steps previously required to generate and send these notifications at the same time creating a "value added" service that could be offered to other customers at no extra cost.
  • Director of Engineering requested the upgrade of a manual process for the routing and execution of inter-departmental tooling requests . Managed the design, internal development, contracted external development, and deployment of this workflow using ProcessMaker Workflow & BPM Software eliminating the manual process and the walking around time associated with that process, providing instant access to relevant documents and prints, and real-time action status tracking.
  • VP of Finance requested the development and implementation of a purchase order requisition processing workflow in ProcessMaker. Managed the design, development, and deployment of this workflow streamlining the purchasing process while enhancing the security, communication, management, and visibility of purchase requests through the implementation of multiple, dynamic approval levels and the elimination of the manual steps required to create and print out new purchase orders.

IT Manager / Project Manager

Responsibilities:
  • VP of Manufacturing wanted the ability to track recurring production related issues that would be printed as alerts to production operators on new jobs. D esigned, developed, and deployed the "Production Alerts System" which was integrated with PowerShop ERP providing for the establishment and automated retrieval of specific job and process related details eliminating the need for manual tracking of this information.
  • New QA Director approached me with an Excel template he wanted to use to document certain quality issues that had the potential to repeat and asked me if these documents could be maintained in our system . At my recommendation, the "Production Alerts System" was renamed "Quality Alerts System" and upgraded with the ability to generate and print out Excel file Quality Alerts based on the template provided . This strategic internal system upgrade proved so useful that the QA Director added FT QA Engineer to manage the creation and tracking of Quality Alerts in the new system.
  • To increase the stability, utility, and scalability of EDI transaction processing, I recommended the upgrade of single-user TrustedLink for Windows to BizConnect EDI server from GXS (now OpenText). New server implementation delivered enterprise class stability and functionality, permitting immediate addition of new trading partners and documents eliminating the process bottlenecks and outdated customizations required to maintain the previous system.
  • Increasing customer demand for the implementation of a system to handle the automation of document retention and retrieval. At the request of the QA Director, I managed the design, development, and implementation of the "Quality Management System"; a Windows forms application used to search for and view scanned documents and the processes used for document scanning, parsing, cataloging, and retrieval saving the time and energy required for the manual maintenance and duplication of the physical documents.
  • Recognizing the need for a more robust and flexible platform for the management and tracking of IT help desk requests, I deployed the first Ubuntu Linux server in our environment running Redmine - a flexible, open-source project management web application - which was used for IT Helpdesk request tracking, IT Knowledgebase repository, and Engineering Lessons Learned database. Subsequent Linux server deployments included: ProcessMaker BPMN, SugarCRM, and NetSight by Extreme Networks.

As a continuous improvement project, the VoIP system has experienced 3 subsequent vendor changes and 1 hardware refresh.
  • Concerns with capacity restraints and periodic physical network server performance issues precipitated management approved of my recommendation to move to a virtualized platform.
  • Driving the system selection process as project manager and working with my network systems administrator, vendor proposals were reviewed, and requirements were honed. Selecting Dell direct, the installation of PowerEdge servers, Equallogic SAN, VMWare, and physical to virtual migration tasks were completed on time and on budget yielding significantly improved network performance and stability providing immediate scalability of the server and storage infrastructure.
