- Partner Services Integration - Managed and led the development of common web services used by frequent flyer (loyalty) program partners to access the S-UA and S-CO web services. Architected the project to use IBM Datapower X150 as a gateway for authentication and authorization for all partners. Following SOA guidelines, the existing S-UA & S-CO services were reused to redirect the client call to appropriate services using context based routing on Datapower.
- Managed a team that supported multiple strategic E-commerce, Loyalty and Customer IT initiatives within United (i.e. MP 2.0, IVR and the Confidential lounge application).
- Involved in developing Mileage Plus™ Master Data Management (MDM) and Customer Information Database (CIDB) consolidation strategies for improved data quality and consistency. This effort was designed to increase MP member awareness, support non-air (hotel, car and retail) partner programs, direct marketing efforts, partner channel integration and customer retention initiatives.
- Alternate Redemption Platform (ARP) - Consolidated about 22 existing web services used to retrieve customer profile information from 3 different data sources. The new web service was developed using Spring framework to be used by different teams at United as well as by external vendors. The servers were configured so that this service received about 7-8 million calls a day without any downtime. Using this service, Mileage Plus (MP) developed redemption capabilities for its members, both in terms of offering expanded air and non-air redemption opportunities.
- PNRGOV - Built EDIFACT messages following IATA standards that were to be sent to different governments 72 hours before the flight took off. Instrumental in architecting the message flow using Tibco BW, IBM MQ and IBM Datapower.
- Secure Flight - Led a team that designed and developed web services to access the host, Apollo (global distribution system) to retrieve and modify PNR related data to be used by 8 different channels. Played a key role in the server configuration set up to receive high call volumes and ensure no downtime. These services helped to cater to the Secure Flight program which was developed by TSA as a congressional mandate.
- RES Channel Expansion - Designed and developed web services using the weblogic classes available in the ant build to retrieve data from an IBM DB2 database. These services helped the Confidential contact centres to provide economy plus upsell to the customers and further improve customer experience.
- Customer Problem Resolution - Delivered a tool that helped the customer agent to resolve customer issues and improved the redemption process for them. Involved in building a web based electronic platform that significantly reduced costs, improved customer/agent satisfaction, and United Promoter (UP) scores.
- FDPS is based on a core database containing operational information (for alternates, re-fuelling and emergencies etc.) for all airports used by Confidential . Designed and developed the middle-tier part of this system mainly using EJB2.0. The application is meant to create and maintain a unique and versatile online interface to access the business information. End users of this application can store, retrieve, manage and customize the data for thousands of airports and aircrafts. Initially the application was built only to deal with flight diversion information. During later phases it was enhanced to hold all types of airport data.
