Developer/Project Leader

Responsibilities:

  • Confidential Real Estate Company is responsible for granting loans to Confidential members on real estate property.
  • Loan processing involves many phases namely Applying, Assigning, Underwriting, Approving and Maintaining.
  • This project is responsible for providing business process automation solutions that aim to eliminate or reduce mundane manual processes and provide business benefits namely time and cost savings, operational efficiency, positive member experience.
  • Mortgage Insurance policy is to protect a mortgage lender or title holder in the event the borrower is unable to meet the contractual obligations of the mortgage.
  • To order such policies, 5 business users have to perform a process daily for 6-7 hours which involved below steps, was tedious and time consuming.
  • Manually enter data of 73 fields into an External Financial Application - 'RealEC' to order Mortgage Insurance.
  • Update Mortgage related fields into an Internal Application - 'Cadence'.
  • Then upload a document named 'Mortgage Insurance Certificate' into 'Cadence'.
  • After all above things are done, formally close the loan processing task.
  • I have designed, developed and implemented a RPA project to automate above process which has saved 5 FTE cost to the customer. Also the exception rate is just around 1-2% mostly due to data issues.
  • Confidential processes and approves the loans to veterans on real estate. In order to do so, it has to submit 'Loan Guaranty Certificate' through VA Portal.
  • To submit such certificates, 7 authorized business users, who have access to VA Portal, have to perform a process daily for 6 -7 hours which involved below steps and has high probability of human errors during validation of fields.
  • Manually compare the data fields - Name, Property Address, Gender, Date of Birth, Ethnicity,
  • If there is a match, then fill the remaining data fields (~40) in VA Portal and issue loan guaranty certificate. (RPA throws an exception for a mismatch).
  • Then upload this certificate into an Internal Application - 'Cadence'.
  • Update certificate related fields in 'Cadence' and close the loan processing task.
  • I have designed, developed and implemented a RPA project to automate above process which has saved 7 FTE cost to the customer. Also the exception rate is around 8-10% mostly due to data issues in fields while validating (Step#1 above).
  • As part of loan processing for real estate property, different types of documents (Appraisal, Notice of Incomplete Application, Mortgage, Title Order) has to be mailed to Confidential members and this involves below repetitive steps for every loan/member. This process is done by 8 business users every day.
  • In internal portal application, verify member details are correct, mailing address is present and select appropriate documents to be sent to member with delivery option as 'Mail'.
  • Upload/Submit the selected documents to Enterprise Correspondence Tool (ECT).
  • Update details of document Submission done in Step# 2 into internal application named 'Cadence' acknowledging documents are mailed to member.
  • RPA throws an exception if member details are incorrect, mailing address is not present.
  • I have designed, developed and implemented a RPA project to automate above process which has saved 8 FTE cost to the customer. Also the exception rate is just around 2-3% mostly due to data issues.
  • Apart from above RPAs, I have designed and developed few more RPAs as 50% resource, made enhancements and performed daily maintenance on existing RPAs.

  • Confidential Life Company, HAL (Health, Annuities & Life) Applications System is responsible for the line of business- Life Insurance, Annuities and Health Insurance. HAL supports New Business, Requirement ordering, Underwriting, Administration and Maintenance of Contract.
  • This system also produces Statements and Billing lists for its customers in periodic and annual basis.
  • It also deals with ACH mode of money transfer also. It ties up with the Confidential banking systems (PEP+) for the ACH processing.
  • This project involves Automating Life and Annuity Death Claim (ALADC) and special interest calculations. The new system currently has capability to automatically process a death claim for Life and annuity products. This project will focus on adding functionality to ALADC system to handle all tasks and process required to fulfill a Death Claim and automatically disburse the funds to members. This will streamline Death claim processing representatives work and help them to support members more effectively.
  • This project involves development of an automated process for Guaranteed and Flexible Annuities coinsurance to decrease the risk of human errors in coinsurance administration, mitigate financial risk and support future product growth. It helps Confidential to be compliant with coinsurance treaties and maintaining favorable ratings by external agencies.
  • The main objective of this project is to increase operational capacity and compress cycle time of applications in order to provide more timely delivery of a contract to the member. This project automatically issues a pending contract if certain business rules and criteria are met, provides the necessary documentation, and produces the related correspondence. In doing so, this project had positive impacts on Confidential member experience, productivity of Confidential business users.
  • Eliminate manual back office processes when members establish or modify Life Automatic Premium and Loan Payment (APP) requests and changes via Confidential .com, increasing operational efficiencies and enhancing member self-service. Provide a seamless browser based application for members that will promote member self-service and will simplify APP changes. Provide Member Service Representatives with the same application (Common U/I) to eliminate manual processes.
  • Involved actively in the system analysis, design, coding, unit, regression and integration testing, and implementation of various complex modules in COBOL, JCL, IMS/DC and IMS/DB.
  • Interfaced with customers in Daily Scrum meeting and ensured all of us are on same page.
